A 3D look at vaults

How hard would it be to do a 3D map of vaults or large player homes with different levels? It could tie in with the H.U.D. where you can rotate the model, if you're still exploring, only the areas you've found are viewable. I would love to see how spaces, twists and turns all relate to each other.

I mean, I'm pretty sure it would be possible, but a lot of work, especially the part about only seeing what you've already explored. If it's more about just seeing how they're structured, then I'd recommend just using the console command 'tcl' and fly around outside the walls.

what a great idea

(it'd look great on the foyer holoprojectors "You are Here"/Mall Information Kiosk etc).

So, there's a few ways you could go about it,

I am sending a technical (and long-winded sorry in advance for that) NMM inbox shortantly.

long story short, "2D-3D is your friend", "there's no school like 'old school'.

you could do 2D side view "sketch MSD" spline-art from AGI-GAH routine, to make a 'sketch' of the settlement with a "you are here" blinking light.

you could do it as a 360vid,

as a simple geometric shape from a getThat scrape pivot or

as an AGI-GAH/NeuralNet from screenshot

a few options hehe.

I'm not going to kid though - mods make this nearly a transcomputational/hyperdefined nPr type problem.

folks can not only add 'uncountably infinite' mods/configurations, they can also add all kinds of kludges to Interior-to-Exterior etc within 1 settlement,

let alone more than 1 hehe.

consider the following two hypotheticals -

-how would you represent a TARDIS interior settlement, or MemoryDenVirtualHolodeck "New Lands" partition?

-how do you represent parts of a settlement which are 'variable geometry' such as Prydwyn, Vault 6-66 or ZerasCETA's zeppelin?

I look forward to further discussion and collabs on such.
