How to stop the game thinking I created a new character?

Whenever I used showracemenu, and save, the game presumes I started a brand new character and all my old saves are archived and I start with Skyrim 01 (or however it is supposed to name). I use ECE, but I highly believe this is Skyrim vanilla's behavior.

It's very nice to have that if I branch off my current game to a completely new "narrative": completely different character, different direction. But very annoying if I just want to fix an eye color or micro adjust height, or shoulder width. Is there a way to tell the game I am still with the same old character? Or a way to edit the game's name or something inside using Resaver to tell the game what character this save is? How does the game save character data anyway?

I think ^ This ^ is the Character name. You could try pasting this bit over the corresponding number in the new save. I've never tried it, but it might work. Just back up your saves, of course.

Nice find. So by making this number the same, the game will think they are ONE character and will allow me to group them together! Yeah, even keeping the same character name is not enough. But definitely gonna give it a try, doesn't hurt.
