FO3 edit won't load my vortex load order, so I can't clean dirty plugins.

Most of the manuals online don't mention that if there is only a header, there are no conflicts. FO3Edit/FNVEdit/etc should mention there are no conflicts during the creation of a merged patch, or perhaps include that in their manuals, so absent minded persons like me don't think anything is wrong http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/wink.gif Would be nice if Nexus Mod Manager did this on it's own with a selectable option to merge the addons, or with FOMM, if that gets updated.

If the Merged Patch file only has a file header (and it is the ONLY Merged Patch file you have), then that's good news, you have no conflicts between your mods, so you can delete the Merged Patch file http://forums.nexusmods.com/public/style_emoticons/dark/smile.gif

Everytime I try to clean my dirty dlc related plugins via Fallout 3 edit, such as "RH_Ironsights_basic_pittplugin" and "Anchorage.esm", Fallout 3 edit fails to load my vortex load order. This result in Fallout 3 edit saying "An error occured while loading modules" and "Backgroud Loader: Fatal: <Exception: Unofficial Fallout 3 Patch.esm requires Fallout3.esm to be loaded before it". Instead of my vortex loader order (evidenced below via gyazo screenshots), I get this weird load order-->https://gyazo.com/4fd1067ae348f94cdf381b0fe6dd88da. Everything in my new modded fallout 3 playthrough is working fine, however I just don't want to get to the DLCs and find that they're broken because of dirty DLC related plugins. Literally have spent 4-5 days on this. Some people say that cleaning dlc related plugins is imperative and others say that their games worked fine with dirty dlc related plugins, so I'm super confused on top of being annoyed. Any help would be much x 1000 appreciated

FO3Edit and Vortex use different criteria in determining the load order. Therefore, you will never be able to get the correct order in FO3Edit.

Your load order is not correct. You should remove and unused plugins as everything in the Data folder gets loaded into memory, whether or not the plugin is being used.

Craft and Calibr are not in the correct order. They should be reversed.

The DLC plugins are not in the correct order. They should load in the same order as the base game.

Fellout should be lower in your load order.

You should NEVER clean the Fallout.esm or the DLC .esm files.

2. https://gyazo.com/1af9bee973cf53db492fdd2b321565dc

I used the "Manage rules" button to implement rules that stipulate that the load order should be 1. Fallout 3 2. Anchorage 3. Pitt 4. BrokenSteel. 5. PointLookout 6. Zeta.

I think I implemented all your requested changes to my load order, but I am right in using the "Manage rules" button to make the DLC plugins "load in the same order as the base game" ? Let me know what yah think. Thanks.

Screenshot of data folder (there seems to be a disparity between my data folder load order and my vortex load order):

The data folder is an alphabetical list of files and is not an type of load order.

The DLC plugins are not in the correct order in the screen shots.

Ah right, thanks. How should the DLC plugins be ordered? I currently have it as Fallout3, anchorage, pitt, broken steel, point lookout, zeta.

That is correct for ordering the DLC. However, you have mod plugins that should be in the same order. ie: Weapon Mod Kits. Also, I noticed a compatibility patch out of order. Patches must load after the last mod file being patched.

In your current load order, RH_WMK Bridge should be after the last WMK plugin.

Vortex is new and still in the trial stage. It would be a good idea to communicate with the team and let them know about the problem.

However, Fallout3 is an old game and they may not want to try to fix the problem when there are better mod managers available to use with FO3 and FNV. Namely, the latest FOMM-FORK. https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/54991

One thing to keep in mind, newest isn't always best.
