This mod was disable automatically. I have not disable this mod at all since it is my only weather mod, so I do not know why it was disabled automatically by Vortex.

… any idea why did that happen ?

Thanks

Afraid not. Was it immediately like that when you started Vortex or did they get disabled while you were using Vortex?

Is it possible you were running any other application that might have modified the plugins.txt file, something like loot, wrye bash, xedit?

Did you maybe run a "purge"?

Hi Tannin,

Lately, I am opening Vortex before playing so I can launch F4SE from it ( finally is working and I am happy ) and anytime I open it, I check my Mods and Plugins and they are ok, so we can rule this out I guess.

I do not use LOOT or Wrye Bash at all ( Vortex is sorting my load order so I do not need LOOT and I have never used Wrye Bash ) and I did not purge Vortex, so we can rule this out as well.

This happened while I was using Vortex, playing my game, I quit it to check some mods in Nexus and Vortex was opened and when I got back to it after checking Nexus, I checked my Mods and Plugins ( it is something I do as part of my process before launching F4SE ) and I saw that.

There are two things I did though : I reinstalled Jetpacks Overhaul and I installed a couple of mods related to Jetpack; also, I ran Xedit to fix / modify some custom mods that are not related at all to Vivid Weathers though. If what I did caused those plugins to be disable, then please can you explain to me why and more importantly, what should I do to prevent it ?

However I did the above, this is not the first time I run Xedit while Vortex is opened and I've never seen any Plugins being disabled after using that application. Also, this is not the first time I reinstall a mod and I have never seen what happened yesterday, so I am confused.

Thanks so much Tannin.

I don't know. To my knowledge xedit doesn't change the plugins.txt and Vortex has no reason to change it when/after you run xedit, much less disable random plugins.

To investigate I need an exact sequence of actions that causes this, like "run xedit, do xy, close xedit, click xyz in vortex, now plugin a is disabled".

Vortex isn't supposed to disable plugins on its own except when you disable/remove the corresponding mod (and then it's still not really on its own).

Since I am able to launch F4SE from Vortex, it does remain open while I am playing. So, Vortex was opened when this happened. Jetpack Overhaul was not working properly, so I decided to reinstall the mod and still, was not working. To fix this, I installed another mod that allow you to eliminate Action Points so you can fly vertical, so I decided to install this mod and after that, my Jetpack Overhaul started to work as it should. Quit my game and back to Jetpack Overhaul mod in Nexus to let everybody know how to solve that problem ( it was not only me with Jetpack consuming Action Points so that was the reason we could not fly vertical ).

Another mod, MCM was installed already but I kept it disabled and after some questions were answer in the mod post, I decided to enable this mod. I got into Xedit to fix / tweak some custom mods related to weapons, saved my changes and back to Vortex to launch F4SE ... before, I always check my Mods and my Plugins. Here is where I saw Vivid Weathers plugins disabled.

I am not blaming anything, but I was very surprised by that because I knew that I never touched Vivid Weathers at all for any reason, cause this is my only weather mod and I love how it works when I paired with Decent ENB, and this mod never ever caused me any trouble at all, so there is zero chance that I disabled this mod on purpose, that is why I was very surprised.

That is what happened. It is not much Tannin for you perhaps to discover why it that happened but what I said is pretty much what I did before I saw that.

Perhaps I can try to mimic the same sequence one more time and see if it does happens again. I will try and I will let you know. I never saw that before and again, I am very surprised with this.

NOTE : when I am gaming, sometimes I open the Decent ENB editor to tweak contrast, saturation and sharpness but never that caused any trouble with my plugins cause as I said, I play, and when I have something to do, I quit and before I launch F4SE again, I check my Mods and Plugins, it is something I do constantly before start playing again.

Running into the same problem as you are, with both nmm and Vortex. Vortex will automatically disable mods that were active the last time that I had closed the program. Either it happens when I open vortex, or when I close it. I did some digging in the data file to try and see what was happening and I discovered that the mods that were being disabled didn't have their esm, esp, bsa, etc files in the data folder and often just had the vortex backups. I looked into the downloads and mods page and the downloads have all of the correct files. When I look at the mods page I see that often the folders for the mods are completely empty so maybe that has something to do with it? I've also started to notice a pattern that usually the mods that are getting deactivated are downloaded as a 7z or rar file. Having this problem with both nmm and vortex, however nmm had problems with both fallout 4 and skyrim special edition whereas Vortex is only having problems with Skyrim Special Edition. Windows 10, newest version of vortex.

Weird. I never had anything like that happen. I do launch SKSE64 after closing Vortex, if that matters.

Only "Anomaly" I ever experience is, using Vortex. I disable a mod, download the new version, install the new version. May or may not uninstall the old version. The new version shows in plugings list but is not enabled. Happens often enough that I always jcheck the plugins list after an installation, just to make sure everybody is enabled that should be. Often shows up as a "Missing Master" on the mods page until I enable the esp or esm on plugins. Never seemed serious enough to open a "bug" on.
