Companions behaviors in settlements

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I've been trying to get dismissed companions which have been sent to a settlement to run a custom package.

Both my custom quest and package work fine on active companions. Not on dismissed companions, whether or not they have been assigned to some work in the settlement they're attached to.

My understanding is when companions are dismissed by the followers quest and added as settlers to a settlement, their behavior now runs through the workshopParent quest and they use Workshop packages.

What sort of leave me clueless (for lack of understanding how Workshops work I'm sure) is debug shows they properly fill my custom quest aliases, they also stop doing whatever they were doing in the settlement, but never run my custom package. They pretty much behave like if they could not walk away at all from the spot they're in - like if they were attached to some linked ref (which does not make sense to me for unassigned comps).

So I tend to think the problem may lie in packages clash - but I can't be sure. Not a matter of priority I'd think, because WorkshopParent quest has a priority of 41, followers quest a priority of 90, and my quest (which should start my package) has a priority of 92.

Anybody has any idea what may be going on here?

Many thanks in advance :)
