The data cannot be configured

Recommended Posts

There’s a outlook .ost file that I could open no my laptop on Windows 8.1. However, after the Windows 10 update, I suddenly can’t open it anymore. It gives the following message, ‘The data file cannot be configured’.

I googled for this, i get many solutions for all other formats except .ost files issue.

TY for you time and attention

- Exit Outlook and browse to one of the following file locations:
- Open SCANPST.EXE.
- Select Browse to select the Outlook Data File (.ost) you want to scan. If you need help locating your Outlook Data - - File, see Locating the Outlook Data Files.
- Choose Start to begin the scan.
- If the scan finds errors, choose Repair to start the process to fix them.

- Shows results of scanned Outlook .ost data file using the SCANPST.EXE

- When the repair is complete, start Outlook with the profile associated with the Outlook Data File you just repaired.
If that not works take a look here how to view ost files.
