Mods "come and go"

I have some (many) mods into the game, but lately, the cosmetic ones are working very strangely. I have retexture of skin, eyes and hairs, plus some different hair meshes, for, let's admit that, the game standard ones are quite painful. It was all working perfectly, till I've tried to enter Black Emporium, that wasn't loading at all. I've disabled some mods, in turn, I was able to enter, then re-enabled them and the game was working.

I was then unable to load Skyhold (first time reaching it, after the walk into the snow), other disable/enable tests, then it all worked fine. Now I've discovered that my cosmetic mods are not working during normal game and magically reappear during cut-scenes.

I've tried with different enable/disable tests, but it still happens. The previous working list is not working anymore. I thought it may have been a problem due to Dorian and Blackwall join (I had 2 mods, one for each of them, that, of course, were not working before their join), but even disabling them, I have found no solution.

Any idea? I can provide the list of the mods, if needed.

I don't know if you've fixed this already, but just so you know, the majority of mods don't work in the DLCs, and that includes the Black Emporium. I've given up trying to figure out which ones work in which DLCs and just uninstall them all when I'm in the B.E.

As for mods disappearing and reappearing - do you have your meshes set to Ultra? Is it possible you used to and somehow the game's settings got changed?

I have had problems in the past with my hardware getting overloaded by the sheer number of mods, and usually the solution for that is to uninstall all but the most basic mods to get through the resource-heavy cutscenes, like the first scenes in Skyhold (eye textures can really screw with that one) and some of the early game scenes in the Haven chantry. I have also had problems with Blackwall Green Eyes and Dorian in Black causing the game to crash, so check those out if you're using them.

Unfortunately, DAI is just not meant for modding. This kind of thing happens all the time. Hope this helps.

Hello! Damn, I've forgotten to update. Yes, I've fixed the problem. There were a broken mod. Once I've discovered, I've written to the modder and then I've discovered in the download page some users were already complaining about it. I've removed it and substituted with another one doing almost the same thing. Problem solved!

But you're right, black emporium is totally anti-mod :-/
