Hey!

I am having a hard time playing this wonderful game, because of the problems I am experiencing. First of all my load order.

GameMode=FalloutNV

DeadMoney.esm=1
HonestHearts.esm=1
LonesomeRoad.esm=1
OldWorldBlues.esm=1

Weapons.of.the.New.Millenia.Store.esp=1
WeaponModsExpanded.esp=1
The Weapon Mod Menu.esp=1
PerkEveryLevel.esp=1
LeatherBackpack - eng.esp=1

In addition to these mods I have installed: NVAC (works totally good! -.- :D), FNV 4GB, New Vegas Stutter Remover, NMCS Texture Pack (medium), UIO and Rudys ENB.

So whatever I do in this game, it could crash anytime. When I fast travel, enter a room/leave a room (stuck in loading screen) or just walk through the landscape. Its really annoying, top minutes I could play where around 5-10 minutes. I know that this game is a little bit buggy, but I know ppl having 50 mods more than me and it works fine. Is my loadorder maybe wrong or something?

My Specs are: i5 4590, r9 280x, 16 gb ram and Windows 10. I really appreciate your help and suggestions!

Greetings

Stutter remover is party broken on Windows 10 and causes crashes, open sr_New_Vegas_Stutter_Remover.ini with notepad and change bHookCriticalSections = 1 to bHookCriticalSections = 0 it can be found in Data\NVSE\Plugins

* Be aware that one error may mask a number of other errors, which will not appear until those masking them have been resolved. Building a stable game consists of resolving each problem individually until none remain, and then realizing that every change you make thereafter (including updates to mods already installed) run the risk of introducing new problems. Be prepared to revert to a previous save if you do so.

* Please see the 'Vanilla "Load Order"' entry in the 'First Timer Advice' section; and 'Common Game Problems' section, of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article.

* If the problem persists, then see either the 'Solutions to Starting the game problems' or the 'Solutions to "Crash To Desktop" (CTD) problems' sections in the wiki "Fallout NV Mod Conflict Troubleshooting" guide.

* You really need to use a "Merge Patch File" with that collection of mods. Please see the 'Third Rule: The Rule of One' and 'Merge Patch File' sections of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article.

BASHED PATCH!

You can NOT use more than a few mods ( 3-4 ) with out a bashed patch, specially in Fallout 3 or New Vegas.

Follow my guide and make sure to do it STEP by STEP ( below ) and listen to both Dubious and Jim, between the 3 of us we are some of the most knowledgeable people that help others

https://forums.nexusmods.com/index.php?/topic/2247404-fallout-new-vegas-beginners-guide-to-modding/

One key note: I do NOT recommend using a merged patch, a bashed patch will do more for you than a merged patch and if you have both the merged patch will just become redundant as the bashed patch will make the same fixes and just over write the merged patch.

If you read my guide this is all explained in detail in it by 2 of the main contributors to Wrye Bash / Flash / Smash

I have been playing FNV for about seven years now and have never used a bash patch in FNV or FO3, which I have been playing longer than FNV. Although my mod load has been modest, usually about 80 mods with FNV and only 30 or 40 with FO3 I can play both of those games with no problem without a bash patch, and have been doing so for a number of years.

I do use a merged patch.

I hate to say it but if you cannot play the modded FO games without a bashed patch you are doing something wrong.

it depends on the actual mods used. Some of the mods add new places or are heavy with scripts or items and this is where Wrye comes in handling the order they are managed. If you've never used Wrye and instead have used a merged patch and had no problems then count yourself lucky. The authors of Xedit and Wrye both have stated that a bashed patch from Wrye is superior to a merged patch.

The key thing to remember here is that no 2 load orders are going to be the same. A Merged patch will work just fine for you where as someone else may need a Bashed patch instead. Specially considering if what you're saying is true, you're most likely a pro at using Xedit and know EXACTLY what your doing, 99% of beginner's don't.

You are right in that no two mod build and load order are the same, for that matter no two computers are the same. I do use a bash patch for my Skyrim games, oldrim , sse and Oblivion but not for my FO games. The reason for this is when Wrye Smash first came out for FNV I tried it and had problems with it screwing up my game. I realize the cause of this was undoubtedly my lack of knowledge in applying Wrye Smash to FNV and not anything wrong with Wrye Smash itself. However, since then I have just used a merged patch as I have not had a problem when doing so and over the years have tried a plethora of different mods in different profiles with very few problems.

if you read my guide, 2 of the main contributors to Wrye explain what a merged patch patches and what a bashed patch patches, the bashed patch does a LOT more. This was even confirmed by the maker of Xedit.

I would also point out that "Wrye Smash" was targeted at Skyrim. There have been format changes with each game released by Bethesda, so it isn't surprising it caused more problems than it fixed back then. "Wrye Flash" was eventually released for the FO3 and FNV games to deal with those changes. Even the latest "Wrye Bash" doesn't do all the things the "Flash" version does simply because they haven't gotten anyone to tackle the "patcher" changes needed to implement them. (It's taken 5 years for Utumno to refactor the basic Wrye Bash structure to accommodate multiple games in a single framework.) This is one of the perils of a newly released game. There is always a steep learning curve. We are now 8 years into FNV, and lot has been learned and the tools have matured.

I might take another look at Wrye Flash. Does it matter if I am playing the GOG version of FNV or not?

It will be a while anyway as the profile I am playing now is very stable and I have had no ctd's or crashes and am at lvl 30 and still to do NVB III.

It is also one of those "if it aint broke why fix it" kind of things.
