Any full proof way to hide secrets in a game?

I was reading an article recently about the best hidden secrets in games, and some hadnât been discovered for over 20 years. The tougher secrets eventually got cracked by hackers sifting through the source code and finding lines of code that pertain to the secret.

My question is, can game developers fight against this tactic gamers have of hacking a games source code and sifting through it, or is it an inevitability that players will always eventually, if dedicated enough, be able to identify Easter eggs/secrets through this method (or others) that arenât the intended method of discovery by developers?

It's possible if the game's code never touches the user's computer - i.e. "cloud gaming". In my opinion however, if you hide a secret that's so hard to find that people look into the source code (which is pretty much always obfuscated anyway), as a developer you should question whether or not you should make it so.

One theory. Those so-called hackers/players are actually part of game development team. They claimed to be strangers or unrelated to the game developers, but I'm pretty sure that some of them are part of the team/company and they are just disguising themselves. They probably release all the secrets/Easter eggs within reasonable period of time. Making a YouTube video or a blog .... Raking in views that could net profits. This will probably cause potential gamers to purchase the game... which means even more profit.
