Surprise! Fallout 4 is crashing.

I was trying to add few mods to FO4 and with help from dikr i finally ended with pretty decent ENB and closed whole modding "procedure":

Yesterday everything was fine, i started new game and created my character. I saved the game and quit. I didn't add any new mods, but today the situation is different. After the intro there is a message: "press any key to continue". I hit something and the game crashes instantly without any error message.

I started Loot trying to find a trace of those crashes. I saw "Unique Uniques" and "Sim Settlements" were "dirty" files, so i turned them off using NMM. I also deleted NAC DLCs (i have vanilla game) in plugins.txt.

I was using FO4SE all the time.

My specs:

CPU: i5 6500

GPU: 1060 6 GB

RAM: 8 GB

OS: Windows 10 Pro

Significant software running in the background:

360 Total Security

My Loot load order:

It's strange that everything was allright after loading so many mods and it died so suddenly.

Please help!:-)

[EDIT #!]:

Wrye Bash shows me this on startup:

Ouch :(

So you started a new character? Mods might conflict with your intro sequence. It's often best to activate most mods when you are out of the vault for them to install properly in your save but next to that: Crashes like that are often related to things in your install folder not adding up. Like a .ba2 archive in your data folder without the related mod being activated, missing files or some kind of other mod conflict.

Did you try verifying your game files through steam?

Good to know, hindsight is 20/20:-)

Yes, i did and i did a lot of things to make Fallout 4 running again, but without any positive results. I made a fresh install and i'll add mods after i'll leave the vault. Therefore, i have a question, i still have mods installed via NMM, they're deactivated, but installed. Can i activate them again and use them with FO4 fresh install?

Just because loot says an esm or esp is dirty, doesn't mean you should clean it or stop using it.
Usually loot will tell you whether or not to clean it by telling you that the ITMs in the esp or esm are intentional and the mod will stop working if you clean it.

It looks like Wrye Bash is complaining about the FormID for those particualr esps, what's weird, is it usually only does that when you try to use a Skyrim Mod in SKyrim SE.

If I were you, I'd uninstall all the mods, and make sure I wiped the game folder clean just to be sure, and reinstall the game, and then reinstall the mods

Also, does CarryWeight300.esp still have the problem of disabling itself in the plugins.txt?

@HadToRegister

Thank you, i'll remember about that.

I think i did that, it's all about small things. So first i uninstalled (not completely deleted) all the mods, then uninstalled game and wiped out whole FO4 folder. What is left is folders on C drive, but plugins.txt and Fallout4Custom.ini are clean now. Fallout 4 is running and i left the vault. Can i install mods now?

Oh and one more important thing. My NMM mod list looks like this:

Mods are deactivated but not completely uninstalled/wiped out. Should i uninstall them and install all over again, or i can just simply turn them on now?

Is there anything i should remember to avoid mistakes?

This game is seriously f*****d up. I thought Fallout 3 had issues, but no, it's just Bethesda.

I reinstalled everything and it was running smooth (with mods). Yesterday FO4 updated itself and F4SE stopped working. I uninstalled it and surprise! FO4 is dead again, with identical symptoms like in my first post.

2 weeks of modding into the toilet. I don't have patience for this crap anymore.

[EDIT # 1]:

I am stubborn, i found the cure for me:

I added two firewall rules to block outgoing and ingoing connections. So anybody who has issues with CTD after "press any key to continue" message can try it out.

It probably is Bethesda. I set steam to not update but regardless, occasionally I crash on 'click any button' as well, lately. Never ingame though, and it never happens twice in a row either. Probably related to the the CC content that it wants to collect not really playing nicely with launching by F4SE. But that's just my hunch.

p.s. Good thing you're stubborn :)

I thought Bethesda gave us a product similar to Skyrim, that game was - as far as i remember - stable enough, even when heavy modded. Fallout 4 is in my opinion a step back in terms of technical issues. It's technically much, much better than Fallout 3, which was a total mess and disaster. I appreciate the possibility of "personalizing" this game, but sometimes attempts of pushing Fallout 4 to run is like resuscitating dinosaur fossil.

I had one CTD (during V.A.T.S. combat) so far, so it's not bad at all (for now).

[EDIT#1]:

Oh, is texture and screen lighting flickering common issue during use of NAC and Photorealistic ENB?
