I'm at a loss

I'm at a loss. I'm relatively new to modding skyrim (I never played it back in its hayday), and I'm stuck. Windhelm crashes whenever I go near it, and Solitude does the same (I found this out the hard way, which I will explain later).

Heres the catcher: I started my game as an imperial soldier using Alternate Starts, and I went to Windhelm once already. Neither of these locations started crashing automatically until the cultists from the Dragonborn DLC attacked me. Whenever I tried to fast travel to Windhelm after the cultists attacked, it would crash. Deciding I would continue playing and try to fix the issue later, I went on a little side quest to find some citizen for one of the dudes in Solitude. Fast travel to the Blue Palace, get my reward, then bam, as soon as I leave the Blue Palace and get outside I get a CTD. I've been stuck ever since. I tried starting a new game, and Solitude is crashing whenever I go outside (have not tried Windhelm). Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I have no idea what is going on or what to do (honestly I won't be able to play for a while anyways, but, whatever. I'll at least have this thread to look at for when I'm able to play again).

What measures have you taken to fix the memory limitations LE has? You have some hefty mods and will pretty easily push past the 256mb default memory block size since a couple of them are DLC sized.

I think I installed a couple of mods that were meant to help with memory and stuff, but, other than that I haven't tried anything. Like I said, I'm relatively new to modding so there's probably some stuff I haven't done yet.

Ah, well first off welcome to the wonderful world of Skyrim modding and let me provide you with a few links that should help you out. First you need Sheson's memory block fix so that the memory "block" sizes can be increased, here is a video that explains everything -

 

Next you should use Crash Fixes -

Lastly use ENB Boost, even if you do not want to use a ENB for the graphics the memory boost effect of ENB lets you unlock all the power of your graphics card. Here is a video that explains things -

 

 

 

Considering your video card only has 3gb of ram you might wanna use Texture Optimizer and resize your textures down to 2048, it really helps with stutters and infinite loading screens due to running out of Vram. I have a 980 Ti and i still use it, but i reduce mine to 4096.

I remember using ENBoost (I don't know if I still have it though), but I don't recognize the others, so I'll look into them. It will be a while before I can try them (can't exactly bring my desktop computer with me to the dorm. Besides, its an unnecessary distraction), but as soon as I can try those I'll let you know whether or not they worked.

Good luck, the only thing that is important is that you set the correct memory amount into ENB Local ini for your system. The rest is pretty straight forward.

Okay, tried it, no success (I followed everything to my best ability, so assuming I didn't mess up somewhere along the way). Whats my next step? I'm assuming its okay to necro my own thread haha.

But no ASIS.ESP

There's no point in using ASIS if you're not going to generate an ASIS.esp
