Windows 10 - Vortex Mods Download Path - Not working / Reverting

I've used NMM for a long time (F3, FNV, F4, Obliv, Sky, SkySE)

Recently (last week) I started using Vortex (I'm only playing SkySE right now), on windows 8.1 (steam) it worked perfectly; I really like it.

I had over 150mods working great, FNIS and everything.

I coincidentally just decided to switch to windows 10 (no hardware changes but did a drive format, clean install)

Now that I'm trying to set up Vortex on windows 10 I'm running into problems.

When I try to change the download directory:

Settings > Download > Download Path

from the normal:

C:\AppData\Roaming\Vortex\downloads

to:

G:\Vortex Mods

it appears to work, but as soon as I go to download a mod it just downloads it to the default directory and changes the setting back; I didn't have this problem at all on windows 8.1 not sure if it's Windows 10 or Vortex but no other programs have given me trouble yet.

Specifically - Windows 10 Enterprise N 2016 LTSB

Any help appreciated, I tried to search a bit and found some similar problems but no real solution offered.

Try installing Vortex to your G drive, instead of the default C:\ directory.
