Installed Vortex, imported working mods from Nexus Mod Manager, Skyrim SE won't load with or without SKSE

There is literally no difference in the mods. Skyrim worked fine under NMM. I just did a straight import. And yet, SkyrimSE crashes before getting to the main program whether I use SKSE or not.

Also there's no easy way to copy the load order to text in Vortex.

The load order can always be retrieved out of plugins.txt. But a export or report function would be nice, that's true.

Does Skyrim start if you "Purge" all mods? No worries this doesn't delete anything, it will just deactivate and undeploy all mods. You can always redeploy them all with "Deploy Mods" (those two functions `complement each other like a toggle).

Also, are there any lose file conflicts? I.e. are there mods with a red flash symbol in the list?

Are the plugins activated?`Is "Auto sort" on the plugin tab activated?

"SkyrimSE crashes before getting to the main program"

Are you saying it crashes after the Bethesda Logo?

If so, there are two main reasons for that to happen:

  1. Missing Masters / Missing Dependencies i.e. you have plugins enabled that are lacking one or several of their requirements in the load order.
  2. ENB. It is possible for your ENB setup to cause that sort of crash when shaders are compiling. Try to run the game without an ENB just to be sure.

Red lightning bolts indicate file overrides. Those should never be the cause for this sort of crash as the game at this stage merely looks at the plugin list (and ENB is trying to compile shaders).
