Vortex not letting me change mod options after initial install of them

Among many mods I installed Better Settlers and See Through Scopes with Vortex for Fallout 4.

With both of these mods I wanted to change the options that I originally set up.

I have tried uninstalling and installing both picking my desired new options, but the options that I originally choose do not change.

For Better Settlers I even deleted the entire mod (archive included), downloaded a fresh copy from Nexus, and installed it.

Even though I selected new options in the new install of the mod, the options I choose originally stay unchanged.

Anyone have any idea what is going and how to fix this?

I also tried starting a new playthrough, the new mod options did not take effect.

What options are you talking about?

FOMOD options (i.e. the dialog that shows up when installing a mod) should reappear when reinstalling a mod (no need to uninstall).

In game options though, are a different thing. Before I go further into that, I have to understand which options you're missing.

Thank you for your reply.

I am talking about FOMOD options.

For example Better Settlers : https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/4772

This mod affects the settlers in FO 4. When installing the mod one can choose from three different options in regards to how settlers handle it when a settlement is attacked :

1. Keep them vanilia, immortal but weak.

2. Mortal, but a bit stronger then vanilla.

3. Mortal, but level 50 and mostly in combat armor. (they look like Gunners, if you play FO4)

I had originally picked 3, but no matter what I do trying to put it back to 1... all my new settlers are level 50 in combat armor.

With the mod See Through Scopes : https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/9476

When installing the mod there is an option to have or not to have the scopes reflect light when the weapon is not being aimed.

I had originally chosen to have this reflection, but would like to have no reflection but uninstalling, reinstalling, choosing new option does not change this option in game.

This seems to be an issue with the mod itself, not Vortex. After the mod has changed the settlers, it might not be able to change existing ones again.

Are you sure about the reflection thing? I don't read anything about that on the mod's description. Also something you might want to ask in that mod's discussion board.

Grestorn,

I am talking about new settlers. The mod does not have the ability to change existing settlers, it is one of the mod's strengths in that it is safe to uninstall it mid-playthrough.

Even though I deleted Better Settlers mod (archive included) and installed a fresh copy from Nexus and choose to have them be vanilia morality all my new settlers are level 50, mortal, and armed like Gunners.

I am very sure about the reflection thing.

rmm200,

I had this mod running since before I started the playthrough.

To experiment I started a new playthrough with the vanilla mod option set.. yet still all new settlers are level 50, mortal, and armed like Gunners.

If I deactivate the mod then new settlers are no longer level 50 ect. Then if I reactivate the mod all new settlers are once again level 50 ect.
