Creating New Mod

So, new to modding but been around quite a lot. Maybe not Nexus itself, but i do have a question, maybe one or two can answer. Does creating a mod require you to delete all the other ones from Skyrim? I am currently in the process of making one, but wanna make sure all you gamer peeps out there could rant out at me for not knowing. LOL

You mean before or after you reformat your hard drive ?

Reformatting as in wiping it? If you choose to reformat a hard drive, you are essentially creating a new, blank indexing scheme, which will make every sector available to write new files. This also makes it appear as though there are no files, directories and data on the drive. However, there is no need to panic, reformatting doesn't actually delete the binary files. While specialist programs can retrieve a lot of the "wiped" files, a virus, or any other program for that matter, is not capable of resurrecting after a disk format.

will i need to do that before i start creating a mod?

I wasnt sure what you meant before as i had never done it. In fact, my brother is the computer guru but i just wanted to see what i needed to do before i start.

No. you don't need to. No clue why he mentioned that..... Also, no, you don't need to remove any of your other mods to make a new one. Are you familiar with dependencies? Only load the files that you actually NEED for your mod. (skyrim.esm, maybe some of the DLC's, depending on what you are doing......)

Check the link in my sig. We have classes there for modding skyrim. It will get you started, teach you the basics of what you need to know, and get you familiar with the CS, and how things work.

Apologies for my response because I did not know the question is serious,

but thought it was done in jest to start some strange discussion thread....

Making sure you get a warm welcome so here. Hello! And... Happy Holidays!

If you already have set up the CK, made your mod, and are going to move your stuff to share it, you know, the esm if you have one, the esp if you have one and all the other stuff like mesh, texture, sound, and other stuff. Just upload those that are your mod and it's parts.

Then we can start looking, pointing at it, and doing what ever else occurs to us when we see it. Even give your mod a review.

Not that I will review it mind you, but somebody like Malachi might.
