wanting to know if anyone has a clue on a mod manager i can use along side the NMM to move esl's in to a better spot on the load order since i can't do that with NMM and i've alread tried and failed with two managers both screwed up my order or mods a bit so looking for better the two i used was vortex since that one's screwy right now will most likely work fine later and the one that screwed me the most was the fallout 4 mod manager that some put on the nexus screwed up everything >.< so ya if anyone has a suggestion would love to know ^-^

You can't move ESLs, period, they are designed to sit where they are and to not contribute to the 255 mod limit.

out of interest when you say move the esl files - are you talking about their place in the load order that you can read in plugins.txt or move them as you may move a patch below its mod?

the last one because other wise some esl's are being loaded before certain mods they work with and might mess up don't fully know but ya been organizing my load order into groups like someone said and them just being clump together at the top with no real order is annoying unless i just need to order those in the same order then if thats what i have to do then i would just like to know since i barely have any info at all

ah i see. okay, well as far as i know, you can't do what you want to do as the esl is automatically loaded in slot x'FE' no matter where it's placed in the load order. as far as i know, it's a hard coded value that cannot be changed, so what you're seeing in the plugins.txt is kind of, but not really, irrelevant.

i think the esl's are loaded directly after the ESMs and before the ESPs, regardless of how they are represented in plugins.txt.

ESL files are vanilla files just like the workshop, far harbor, and nuka world files

they HAVE to be above ALL user added mods and below all other vanilla files, period.
