Nagging 'Endorse Me' popups... Please get rid of them

This whole "Endorse Me" thing has gotten to be a farce. Either make it meaningful or do away with it. I have no issues with endorsing a mod that I approve of and like, but there is no balance. Give we poor (paying) customers a REAL choice - a red "thumbs down" vote. Or else quit with the nagging.

(Yes, yes... I know that some authors also are 'paying customers;... And I know that they deserve a nice 'attaboy' for all their hard work... Except, when they don't. When their efforts do more harm than good, or they have merely done a port, or they have merely 're-arranged' another author's actual hard work and claimed it as their own...)

Thumbs Down or NO NAG!

You can abstain from mods. We don't have a "thumbs down" system as it would undoubtedly get abused, and it's very demoralising for the authors who put hard work into the content they share for free.

The no-entry sign next to the thumbs up remembers "I don't want to endorse this mod" and will not remind you about it again. The same controls are in Vortex and on your download history page (https://www.nexusmods.com/users/myaccount?tab=download+history).

And of course, as Hatemiser says you can go here and under Global Preferences, turn off the pop-up.

Hey, here's another option, just don't leave a Thumbs Up.

Sorry that you're tired of seeing Modders who do all of this for free, just asking you to click something.

After all their effort making a mod, and all they ask for is a Mouse-click in Return, and you're complaining about doing that while using their mod for free.

Nexus used to have a Star Rating system, and when people disliked a modder they'd purposely go to their page and give it one star, just for revenge.

I myself received a few one stars based solely on the fact that I didn't get along with one guy on the Bethesda forums, so he got a few of his Friends to go to my mod page and one-star it in order to purposely drag my rating down.

So, now the outlook of Nexus is "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all", which means, if you don't think a mod deserves a thumbs up, then don't give it a thumbs up, there's no need for the Nexus to put back in place a system that was abused.

It's quite obvious that if a "Thumbs Down" option existed, every mod author that uses an "endorse me" popup would likely receive a "thumbs down" from you based solely on that, rather than on the merits of their mod, which, is just another example of how a "Thumbs Down" option can be abused.

Why the need for a Negative Vote, when No vote will suffice?

Having been banned from an author's page for suggesting how the mod in question could be improved, or seeing posts disappear from a mod's page (not my posts), I think that authors on this website have it pretty cushy... You sir, are a case in point, jumping to the conclusion that I will downvote a mod if nagged. I will jump to a conclusion of my own and say that you are probably the type of mod author that either bans users that make constructive criticisms, or 'disappears' critical posts.

Hatemiser, Picky, thanks for the setting. I was not aware it existed, and have now changed it.

Yea, I've seen people who get banned from a Mods page and then make a thread claiming "I was banned FOR NO REASON" and it turns out there was a really huge reason.

I didn't jump to any conclusion, as you made it quite clear that you wanted the ability to leave NEGATIVE feedback on a mod page for the sole purpose of leaving NEGATIVE feedback on a mod page.

You even requested the option to do so, because apparently, just leaving the mod page that you don't like, and not saying anything, isn't enough for you, you also want to hurt the modder in some way by dragging their rating down.

BTW, sorry to burst your "Jumping to conclusion" bubble, but there's a thread where I'm arguing AGAINST the ability of Modders to Ban people from their mod pages, so, how does it feel to be wrong most of the time?

You're running around here demanding stuff like you're entitled to it, and the slightest thing offends you "Leave God out of it" you say.

And if you had your way to thumbs down a mod?

Would you thumbs down for being "blasphemous" in your eyes?
