Disabled mods to go to Black Emporium, now have game performance problem

I disabled my mods (will be listed below) in order to go to the Black Emporium. I have 37 hours into a game where I had all the mods below running with absolutely 0 issues. When I turned them off to go to Black Emporium I also had no noticeable differences. Once I was done I closed out the game and did a merge with my mods again and started up Inquisition. The first time I loaded into Skyhold there was nothing loaded and it took like 45 seconds for all the visuals to load in. I tried a few more times but it never happened again. However there is a really weird issue now where its like my draw distance was effected.

There is a ton of pop in in areas that never had that issue. I even tried loading a save that I made before turning off mods and going to the Black Emporium, and it still does the pop in issue.

Is there anything I can do or did I f*#@ my save file up? Has anyone ever experienced this before? I would consider these mods to be very light in terms of how it changes the game. I am willing to try anything. Thank you in advance. I will also list the merge notes below the mod list. There are 4 "***Warning:***" messages, but again it has never been an issue throughout 37 hours of gameplay.

Mod list:

- Official Patch

- EF Custom Arms - Standard

- EF Custom Body - Curvy

- Enhanced Camera ( Less Zoom )
- Eyebrows 4 Women (Shaved, Dark)

- HD Eye Textures - Lore Friendly (T)

- HD Eye Textures Tweaked

- SK_EF_Ponytail with Bangs N Braids

- War Table - No Waiting

- Yennefer complexion V0.2 - no brow just black eyeliner - no moles - Trespasser

I'm going to guess that you messed up your savegame file, by uninstalling mods in the middle of a playthrough, then saving your game without those mods, then adding them back in.

Things tend to get saved inside the savegame, so, never remove then add back in, or remove, or add mods during a playthrough

Even if I have a save file from before turning off the mods? What if I deleted the save files that were made after turning off the mods? Just grabbing at straws now I guess.

So essentially I'm s#*! out of luck?

Well, in your OP you said that when you load a save that happened BEFORE you removed the mod, it has issues as well.

So, your game ran perfectly fine without any of the issues you mentioned in your OP up until you removed the mods, and now, even with the mods restored and using a game from before you removed the mods, it's messed up.

Sounds like the Mods aren't re-merging correctly, and your old saves are seeing the merge differently than it did on your original merge.

Are there instructions to remove any mods if you go to the Black Emporium?

Did you go their "legally" within the game?

Yes you are correct.

I went to the Black Emporium "legally". I used the war table and was able to get there no problem when my mods were off.

I couldn't access the Black Emporium before because apparently if you have any texture mods, or mods that alter the appearance of the Inquisitor, it will freeze and "crash" while trying to get there.

I have never had a problem with doing exactly what you have done - playing with mods, disabling them to go into the BE, saving afterwards, re-merging and playing again. I suspect that is not the issue.

Try merging your modpack but without the eye textures. In my experience, HD eye textures can overload the game, especially in areas where there are a lot of NPCs like Skyhold. The fact that you have two eye textures that overwrite each other might be causing issues too.

I have also had mods that worked perfectly well, and then something happened in-game that was totally unrelated and it broke one of my mods. For example, finishing a quest with Cassandra broke a Dorian re-texture, and I have absolutely no clue why, but removing the Dorian mod fixed the issue.

DAI modding is weird, sometimes logic doesn't apply. Test all your mods if removing the eye mod doesn't fix the issue.

Yeah it very strange. No matter what I do I can't get it to go back to normal. I've tried removing mods one by one and even removing all mods entirely. Nothing seems to work. I only did it in the first place because I saw so many people saying that how they got to the Black Emporium and had 0 issues with the method you, and many others, have used to access it. Such a bummer.

I still haven't played the DLCs and its to the point where I don't even want to anymore. The pop in is HORRENDOUS. Things twitching and glitching out nonstop and stuff wont load until you're like 5 feet in front of it. Really breaks the beauty/immersion of this amazing game.

Thank you for the suggestion. I just tried this and sadly it still has the same issue. People popping in 5 feet in front of me and textures/objects twitching nonstop.

If a complete un-/re-install didn't sort things then something is seriously off with your rig. Sounds like it might be a video driver issue, but now I'm just guessing because if the problem is caused by something outside the game itself... :geek:
