I installed AAF Advanced Animation Framework now the 3rd Time and it still does not appear in Fallout 4, even with Animations installed, yea i have all Up to Date, F4SE and everything else, whats needed. but as soon i get into the Game, Nothing shows up, even not with the Keyboard Key HOME, whats for me in Europe Pos1 on the Keyboard.

I asked around in German Forums, but no one seems to be ready to help, like always!

Could someone please tell me what can be the Reason, when i have installed all correct with NMM, why that Crap wont work?

Yea i use NMM, cause its for me still good working for all other Mods i got, about 130 Mods.

Tysm if anyone can help out

You might get more help on the discord server, but AAF is a very complex mod and your best bet of understanding how it functions is check out the discord and read the documentation files on the mods main page.

Also that "+1" comment was a very lazy and uneducated way of saying that they agree with you.

There's something else to look at as well. I also had this problem, but the problem isn't with AAF itself. The last few versions of F4SE have been coming out without installers. If you look at the read me, it only tells you to transfer a three files into the fallout 4 folder to get it working, but with AAF, you also need some of the f4se scripts. I don't know which ones specifically AAF needs, but what I did was basically moved all the contents out of the f4se folder that gets made after extracting it, and into the fallout 4 folder. It should add a data\scripts folder, and an src folder. Once those two folders were added, I started a new game and AAF started working for me.

I'm having the same problem, was a solution ever found?

so far I have

f4se installed correctly- followed gopher and gamerpoet to be sure (shows up in game command line check)

MCM- shows up in game

looksmenu- gave me some new options so I assume it's working correctly

CBBE- installed without issue but I haven't gotten to a point to test it as I'm brand new to fallout

Bodyslide-working

AAF- installed fine, followed a guide, grabbed the check file AAF_GFV.exe off the discord

When I ran it the scripts were not found but they were installed through MO2 I had to copy a set to the game data directory for the tool to see the scripts and then everything checked green.. except AAF isn't installed. According to the tool so it's either a huge bug or MO2 is causing issues.

EDIT: I figured it out. If F4SE is being verified in game but AAF isn't initializing this should be the fix.

You have and edit a "Fallout4Custom.ini" file usually located in "Documents\My Games\Fallout4"

open it and add under any text you see:

Archive]
bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
sResourceDataDirsFinal=
Save and now you're ready to mod and everything should work according to the AAF guide, thanks to Caliente's CBBE install instructions I figured this out.
All the tutorials and guides LACK this simple step but with Skyrim modding editing .ini is the very first thing you do so I was shocked that F04 didn't have any type of .ini edits and searched around. Nuked everything and reinstalled, I caught it as I followed the install instructions of each individual mod the second time around instead of following the guide which I used as a guidlne.
Anyway I noticed the Skyrim modders who ported over mods were the only ones to put this in and generally have way better install instructions and option explanations while F04 modders talk about their mods, post pics or vids and leave itty bitty install instructions at or near the bottom. Beginners will find this very frustrating, I hadn't done any skyrim modding for a year or so then picked up f04 so I was rusty.
I think as a whole Skyrim modders generally seem better.
Anyway hope it helps

i managed to fix my broken aff. make sure you uninstall and reinstall everything and anything that has to do with aff ( including f4se ). also make sure that your mod manager has the correct file location for your game. once you have all the essentials to run aff reinstalled and have it all in the correct order you'll need to revert to a game save that ran aff successfully. once i reinstalled the files pretty much all my saves were fixed except the latest one. so i was set back like 8 minutes of game play thanks to my autosaves, but before i tried the whole reinstalling everything including f4se method i couldn't even get my old saves to run aff. it kept telling me my save files were corrupted and after messing with it some more i complete broke it LOL. reinstall F4SE, Looksmenu, AFF, LLFP, ( i even reinstalled my ENB and McM mods just incase ) body mesh and clothing mods don't really matter unless they specifically have some aff enabled file ( such as skeletal enhancement / adjustment mods ).

one more thing. modmanagers usually don't like it when you manually install files. so i recommend installing every mod through your mod manager unless the author of the mod specifically states otherwise.
