So I am facing the issue I've seen others mention on this forum.

I can't import/export with DAI Mod Maker and I can't see previews of what I'm working on. I understand it's that I don't have SlimDX, but the website is down. What are my options for getting the preview window up and running?

https://code.google....limdx/downloads

You'll want both

SlimDX Runtime .NET 2.0 (January 2012) and

SlimDX Runtime .NET 4.0 x64 (January 2012)

(x86 is only for 32-bit operating systems, which you like won't have if you're playing PC games.)

Thank you for the reply. Curiously, that doesn't seem to fix it.

I just checked my DirectX files and I appear to have DirectX 12. Would that potentially be the next problem I'm facing?

If that were the case, then more users with DX12 would be reporting those issues. I'm not sure why you even think that's the source of the problem.

Hi! I have a similar issue. I can import and export (after I import edited mesh into ModMaker, a message comes up telling me it's been successfully imported), yet there is no preview shown and does not turn up in-game. I have both the SlimDX mentioned above installed.

After checking, I realized that I too have DirectX12 on my computer. Coincidence, or is there an issue with DX12 and modding?

Does anyone who sees this have a solution? I've been combing the internet, troubleshooting guides, and forums, but cannot seem to find an answer that helps me.

As I said to the person above, if that were the case, then more users with DX12 would be reporting those issues. I also have DX12; works fine.

It should also be noted that v19 is not good for images; use v16 or v17, which you can get here:

You can still use v19 for ebx edits.

@nightscrawl: Thanks for the links to the SlimDX installers, helped a bunch!  Happily modding and playing with 3ds Max with game assets.
