Changing Face Textures for Custom NPC

I've put this in my previous thread, but this is a different issue so I thought I'd like to give it its own topic.

Maybe I'm going a bit haywire for my first mod, but I really really want to change the face textures of this npc. I am using a combination of textures from the FSM texture pack that will give the body a more muscular appearance, and I can get the body textures to work perfectly by using a replica of the NakedBody armor and set it as the skin of the npc. No issue. However, the problem is that I can't do that for the face, and no matter what I do it seems that the npc always uses the default face textures from my main game, since I've painted a tattoo on that face texture, and it doesn't show up in game. So now there is a noticeable neckseam since the head and body textures have slightly different colours.

I made a copy of the female headpart, gave it the textures that I had put aside beforehand in the mod folders, and set it to the npc, but it does not work either.

I've even gone so far as to creating a whole new race, and changing everything I've made so far to work with the new race instead, but the facial textures still remained the same.

Please, if anyone knows a way around this, I would be grateful.

Thanks in advance.

Far as I know, every CBBE Body has neck seams. Sometimes you can see them better and sometimes not. Even on the fsm skintexture page, you can see that the girls there have neck seams - far as I remember.

So, the sad news is, you probably have to live with that. The good news are, you can easily cover this area up with clothings, or a necklace.

What the facetexture matters, put the facetexture with fo4edit in but if you make it on this way, be aware that the facetexture-entry could be deleted as soon as you work on your follower npc again in the ck. Then you have to attach the facetexture via fo4edit again.*

*My follower suffers on the same problem^^.

Good question *looks suspicious*. If I am honest, besides the tattoos and the faceconstruction via faceripper, I have not spend much time on the appearance of my follower and so it is sometimes hard for me to remember after all that time, on this part.

But far as I am remember, I have make a head textureset in the ck and then close the ck and go to fo4edit*. In fo4edit you need to select your follower-npc and then scroll down the npc entries until you see an entrie named "FTST - Headtexture".

This is the place you need to put the entrie for your face texture in. How do you do it is simple, you search the headtexture you have made before in the ck, in fo4edit and copy the name of the headtexture to this entrie from your follower npc. In the case of my follower it is: "pansersheadskin [TXST:03049079]". Your headskin will sound something similar, aka some name and then a number combination.

* If you need examples for the headtextures in the ck, I think Piper had one or if I am wrong here, just look at some custom companions. Not every custom companion has its own headtexture, but some have.
