RAM : 16 GB Corsair Vengeance 2400 MHz DDR4. 1 TB HDD + 240 GB SSD. GPU : MSI NVIDIA GTX 970 4GB. PSU : 500W Corsair CX 600 So what do you think guys,Is it a good PC ? The CPU is an LGA 1150 socket and only works with 80-90 series chipsets and the motherboard is LGA 1151. Also that hardware you brought up is pretty dated being around 4-5 years old now. That I7 is pretty dated, and won't work with that motherboard as said. And the Ryzen are noticeable cheaper + more future proof. In single core benchmarks these 2 cpu's are pretty even but othervice the Ryzen shine. Both Asus, Gigabyte and MSI have some nice boards for this cpu. Spend some money on 2666 MHz RAM That is the sweet spot for the more cheaper RAM. Ok. you could shell out some more money on 3200 MHz RAM. But the gain in FPS are rather small between 2666 MHz and 3200 MHz in most of the games of today with a few exceptions. Just make sure that the RAM you get are in the actual motherboard compability list at the manufacturers home. Get a 650W fully modular PSU instead. 500W are ok. but not very future proof. If you are building PC for the first time or still not comfortable yet, I suggest using PC part Picker website. Also, I recommend AM4 Platform. That's Ryzen. I say this because AMD promised their consumers that their motherboards will be compatible with newer CPUs that'll be hitting the market until Ryzen 3. Which is great news for us. SHADOW2KK Posted May 1, 2019 Share Posted May 1, 2019 Pretty weak pc build tbh OP, no offence, if I were you I would build a way better rig for a reasonable amount, and with crypto mining down, then 10 series Nvidia cards are at a decent price, or splash out and get a 2070 or something.
