Clothing Model Still Clips After Building in Bodyslide -CBBE-

So after much face-desking and hair pulling I finally discovered that bodyslide needs to be pointed to the DATA folder and not to the GAME folder...fml...the program should make that more obvious...might be a little salty about that, but w/e. Its now set correctly and most of my models are mostly fixed

BUT

some of them still clip slightly, especially while moving.

Now I am not very good with using bodyslide or outfit studio, this is pretty new to me but I have spent a good while researching and have learned to do some things. And indeed, I have been able to fix most of my problems, there are just a few troublemakers I cant seem to fix...and they just so happen to be pieces I really want to use...

To be clear, I HAVE built the models using bodyslide. I am using the CBBE Curvy preset. I applied the preset to the CBBE Body, as well as the outfit. (before anyone asks, I have tried using the CBBE Curvy (outfit) preset for the outfit, and it doesnt work, the outfits dont conform at all and clip all over the place)

Im not sure why, most everything fits perfectly now, but a few do not. Namely, there is one piece where the breast still shows through the model, it only barely clips through (its more pronounced when moving, but is still present even while standing still). I built the outfit using the CBBE Curvy Preset, I tried using the Curvy (outfit) preset, and it makes things significantly worse. Now I am far from an expert with using bodyslide or outfit studio, but when I pull the outfit up in outfit studio (at least I THINK im pulling up the right thing? its kind of hard to know with everything having different names in every different place and stuff), and according to that, the outfit fits perfectly, no clipping at all. but in game, thats not the case.

Any idea why this still doesnt fit? is there something Im doing wrong or have overlooked? Ive researched all I can and Im still at a loss...

Thanks everyone

Ariana

To fix that, you can make a "Zap slider", what it does is it deletes a part of the mesh, in your case the CBBE body, by selecting the "Mask tool" 9b953e2b65c05bcb2741237ced297fb8.png

And select the parts that you want to keep, it will be highlighted in black

Click "Slider -> New Zap Slider"

Name it anything, I usually name it "Skin Clip"

If you want the zap to be auto-enabled, click the pencil next to the new slider and hit Tab on your keyboard

Save the project and build in Bodyslide and it should be working in game now.

Thank you so much for the detailed post!

I think I followed your directions correctly...but I still get the same problem...

Now, you said to highlight the parts you want to KEEP, but then you showed highlighting the body, not the outfit. By keep I think you mean which part of the model comes out when there is clipping. I would think I would want to keep the outfit and not the body right? In any case, I tried doing it as you showed, applying the zap to the body, and not the outfit, and the other way, by applying the zap to the outfit and not the body, but either way it doesnt work.

Now...when I reload the project after doing this (just hit "open current project in outfit studio" again from bodyslide), that zapped slider isnt there. Not sure what that means...idk if that means im not saving it incorrectly or something...

Also, I will say that the problem is the breast physics. Which, clearly I dont particularly want while my character is wearing what is basically a steel sportsbra...I dont think her breasts are going to be flooping around much while she has that on. I dont know if that gives you an idea of another way to solve this problem.

By what I mean is keep, is this:

When you enable the zap, it should look like this (part being deleted is pushed forward) :

Make sure if you delete a zap, to make the new zap a different name if you're still in the same session. Outfitstudio will merge the deleted zap and the new zap if they both have the same name.

If you want to get rid of physics, if only the CBBE body has physics (make sure "CBBE" is set as reference) :

Either reduced or normal is fine, as long as it isn't the physics reference.

If you have any custom sliders, check "Merge new sliders with existing sliders" at the bottom.

Go to "Bones" tab, and delete any "Cloth" bones like this:

And save. The physics should be disabled on the CBBE body.

If the outfit has physics, do this after doing the previous steps:

And click "OK", the physics should be deleted. Save and, if it asks "choose cloth data" leave it unchecked, like so

Build in Bodyslide, and hopefully it will work.

I finally got it!

I ended up having to delete the physics AND do a zap, but eventually I got it to work! I somehow deleted physics on a lot of other items but somehow not all of them so Im a little confused there but hey, Ill take it. At the end of the day, I really didnt want physics for 95% of the things I wear so its not much of an issue.

Thank you so much! I have spent hours doing this...its embarassing frankly. So thank you, I can stop making this forehead shaped dent in my desk any bigger...

Here is what you were able to help me do!
