Moving Bioware Folder

I'm wondering if I could move the folders in 'C:\Users\Owner\Documents\BioWare', where the mods or saves are, and have it still work. I don't have much room left on my C: drive; I put all my games on my portable hard drive (E:). I'd like to put all of my Bioware games and their mods/saves there as well, but I don't know if the games would continue to work. Any insight for me?

@ariinya; Ho-boy...

What you want to do *can* be done. But it ain't easy, and it requires an understanding of how various things relate to each other in a Windows environment.

The most important piece is: are you planning to move the game's PROGRAM files? You say you want to put all your games on an external drive. That can present significant problems if that's where you have executables installed. (Windows doesn't like missing program files.) Then you have to tell your game where to find your newly moved "\Bioware" folder. And last, if you're using one, you have to tell your mod manager where everything is as well.

If you're up for all that, we can help. :thumbsup:

Eeee.... I am NOT good at this stuff, to start off. ^_^;

But I started out by installing the game to my external drive, so there's no problem there, so absolutely NO moving the Program files. Just the Bioware folder. The only thing I wouldn't know how to do is to tell the game how to find the Bioware folder after I moved it, which is why I have not attempted it, yet. :X

I've gone without mods thus far since I don't have the space on my hard drive for them (especially the texture mods that I love so dearly - A Lot Of Textures looks so amazing, I WANT it!), so I'm hoping you can manage to help me. I promise, I'm very good at following directions! Just assume I'm completely ignorant and we'll get along famously! xD

Edit: Oh jeez, I just saw your reply on my Mass Effect: Andromeda post. I really really REALLY don't want to reinstall my games... I mean, really REALLY don't!!! But I will if I have to. Must you make a damsel cry like this?! :'(

@ariinya; Right, so things get easier (well, less complicated) because you already installed the "\Program Files" files to your external drive. So it's just a mater of relocating your "\BioWare\Dragon Age\Inquisition" folder.

There are a couple of different ways to do that, and unfortunately I'm getting ready to head to Atlanta to visit my granddaughters, so don't really have time to go into the details. But maybe another DAI-playing member will step in with the instructions, or maybe you can wait until I get back. :cool:

I can wait. Especially since it isn't ONLY Dragon Age: Inquisition... it's Mass Effect 3 as well. I'm hoping since they're both Bioware, the process will be the same either way. However, if another person would like to instruct me, simply remember I am dumb as a rock, but I can follow clear instructions! ^_^;;;

Have a nice time with your granddaughters! Give them an extra squeeze from the random, silly stranger on the forum! xD
