When I run the game, a purple screen pops up and a check mod load order message appears

 

I used a loot or edit, but I could not figure out where it was wrong.

In the left-hand pane of FOMM (your first screenshot), <Right-Click> in a blank part of the field. This will pop-up a "context menu" with a list of options including "check all". Select that and it will automatically put a "check mark" in the box to the left of all your plugins. Once you have them all selected, then you want to run LOOT. (I would exit FOMM first before running LOOT, just to be sure it won't interfere with the sort; but it's not my primary mod manager. The sort is based upon the file "modified" date/time stamp and FOMM should pick that up regardless.)
