Cyclic Interaction

How do I check my custom rules for plugin dependencies?
I seem to have a cyclic interaction between rules going on, and they don't seem to appear like the rules in the video to change.

To avoid cycling rules in your PLUGINS screen, turn auto-sort ON and problem will be solved.

If you try to manually move the plugins to different places in your plugin load order, you may get cycling rules and honestly, you do not need to move anything from where the integrated-loot inside Vortex is suggesting.

Vortex is not NMM and even though you can go full manual if you want to when sorting your plugins, I would recommend to let Vortex to sort the plugins automatically and instead, focus on resolving your Mod Conflicts in the Mod screen.

In plugins view (sidemenu > plugins) in the toolbar there should be "Manage rules", which will show you all your custom plugin rules that you can remove individually. The notification saying "Plugins not sorted because of cyclic rules" should help you identify which plugins are involved in a cycle.

Ya, I'm still learning Vortex.

I always used plugins in NMM to isolate issues.

Definitely not like modding Daggerfall, of course I only had textures back then.

But, ya, just recently reinstalled Skyrim, so made a clean break from NMM.

One thing to get used to right away, is that you won't be spending much, if any, time worrying about and sorting Plugins (ESPs), it's sorting MODS (the textures, meshes etc, like sorting Daggerfall) that you'll be doing most of, and Vortex will warn you of any file conflicts.

And how that works is if MOD A textures are Conflicting with MOD B textures, and the Mod description page says "Make sure my MOD B textures overwrite the textures from the other MOD A", then you'll know to tell Vortex to have MOD B, LOAD AFTER Mod A.

If you mess up, you only have to change the rule to LOAD BEFORE, and you're all set. You don't have to make TWO-WAY rules either, so you don't have to tell MOD A to LOAD BEFORE MOD B, and then have another rule telling MOD B to LOAD AFTER Mod A
