Vortex failed to bake settings files

While installing mods for skyrim I get that error and I get a path that leads to skyrimprefs.ini.base. anyone have any idea on how to help me

Tbh i got no clue, but imma respond anyway, i used vortex for the first time in months today and had this, idk if its recent or not

Can you check if you have Controlled Folder access enabled in Windows Defender?

 

It'll be called "Ransomware protection" and you'll need to allow Vortex as an exception (or turn off the feature).

This didn't work. I still can't install the mods and I have the missing masters error because of it.

hi, don't necro an old post your problem may be entirely different. start a new post and follow the guidelines that are required so that people can actually try to help you.

If a master is missing, it is obvious that you need to install the Master first ( all the time ) and then any other option file under and probably Vortex will trigger the red bolt ( mod conflict ) so you can override the master with your optional file and you should be fine.
