How do I extract map markers from files in GECK?

As what you really want is to locate where a particular MapMarker is located, I suggest that xEdit/FNVEdit will better serve your purposes. Take a look at the thread "Druid's Den - Map Marker - Enable Parent Links". It covers various aspects of the problem and has screenshots of the record types you need to locate. Among other things, it shows that "MapMarker" is not a separate category but rather a STAT "Placed Object" REFR record of "Persistent" category under specific cells in the "Worldspace". (There is a "MAPM" record type for MapMarker's in FNV, but that article doesn't reference it.)

If you prefer to use the GECK, Map markers are under the Static section of World Objects. They are static objects called MapMarker. You can right click on MapMarker and select Use Info to see where all of the markers are placed. This will include the vanilla markers as well as the mod's markers, and any unnamed cell will show up as Wilderness for its Cell ID. Map markers for the mod you are currently editing tend to show up at the top of the list.

One advantage of using the GECK over FNVEdit is that double clicking on the entry in the Use Info form will take you to that location in the GECK render window, so you can look around and see where it is relative to the landscape. FNVEdit is only going to give you a cell name and coordinate location.

Either way works though.
