Wrye Bash's BSA Redirection causes CRASH ON STARTUP

I believe you're on the right track there Drake.

A look at Oblivion_Default.ini confirms that until the game is run there is no sArchiveList line at all. Looks like Wrye Bash simply appends "ArchiveInvalidationInvalidated!.bsa, " to the beginning of the sArchiveList= line, and must also create the "sArchiveList=" part if it's missing.

Good detective work!!

Yeah, now we only need confirmation from SgtSandbags that they did run Wrye Bash's Archive Invalidation -after- deleting "Oblivion.ini" and -before- running the game. Then that'd explain it all.

There was no "sArchiveList" when Wrye Bash added its part to the front of it, making the "AII!.bsa" the only entry inside there. Then, when the game got run afterwards, it couldn't add the default line, as there already was a non-empty "sArchiveList" inside, thus it remained faulty and never got fixed.
