Recommended Posts

Thank you, everyone, for your entries! The entry form is now closed and we will be making our picks for the jury selection during the next week.

The first Nexus Mods Screenshot Community Event is here! Submit your screenshots of Skyrim?, Skyrim Special Edition?, Enderal?, Fallout 4?, or Fallout 76 illustrating the event theme and seize your chance to win one of three £25 Steam Gift Cards (~$33 depending on exchange rates).

As we announced earlier this week?, we have been thinking about new ways to increase interaction with you guys - our community - for a while now. Thanks to two amazing members of the site - Excellentium and napoleonofthestump - who have been pioneering screenshot events based around artistic themes, we are now honoured to roll out the first Screenshot Community Event and to reveal the theme:

The event theme is...

Conflict and Struggle

Be it the civil war between Stormcloaks and Imperials, opposing factions like The Brotherhood of Steel and The Institute fighting each other, the red madness plaguing the world of Enderal, or simply player versus environment: conflict and people struggling are common themes in the worlds of Skyrim, Skyrim SE, Enderal, Fallout 4, and Fallout 76. In your screenshot submissions, you are free to interpret this theme any way you like e.g. by portraying the internal or implied struggle of a character, or by depicting epic battle scenes. Excellentium and napoleonofthestump have been hard at work to provide you with some amazing example shots illustrating the theme.

Since we want this to be as inclusive as possible and encourage everyone regardless of skill to partake in the event, there won't be any "winners" per se. Rather, we will be giving out one of the prizes to a random participant in the event.

The other two gift cards will be given away to two randomly chosen participants from the jury selection consisting of 15 screenshots (one per participant) that we will pick together with Excellentium and napoleonofthestump.

How to enter:

  1. Create at least one screenshot illustrating "Conflict and Struggle" from Skyrim?, Skyrim Special Edition?, Enderal?, Fallout 4?, or Fallout 76?.
  2. Upload your screenshot(s) to the public image share? (site rules? apply).
  3. Fill out the event entry form here?: Click here to enter for a chance to win one of 3x £25 Steam Gift Cards??. The form is now closed, thank you for participating!
  4. Make sure to provide your email, Nexus Mods username, and the URLs linking to your screenshots on the image share.

The event will be running for two weeks from today Friday, 22nd March until Friday, 5th April 04:00 PM (GMT). Make sure to submit your screenshots before the end of the event if you would like to participate.

To help you get started, napoleonofthestump has written up a screenarchery guide suitable for both newcomers as well as veteran screenarchers.

Please take note of the rules of participation as well as the general terms and conditions below.

With that all being said, we are all very much looking forward to seeing what screenshots you can come up with. Best of luck to all participants and feel free to share your thoughts and screenshots in the comments below!

One question remained after reading the post (wich was clear btw,..)

I am assuming that it is O.K to mix and match images from the various allowed games (if you posess them) into one set ??

If by one set you mean uploading one image for, let's say Skyrim, and then embedding other images for the other games in the description below - yeah, you can do that. Just submit the URL for the Skyrim image in that case.

We'll then pick one of those for the community or jury selection. ;)

Hi Erwin! You're allowed to upload sets for every game if you like, so there's no restrictions on how many image sets you'd want to make for Skyrim, Enderal or Fallout. The jury - me included - will still only pick one image from all those sets though, so you're not giving yourself better chances by including many sets. I understand many of us here like to capture screenshots from a variety of games, so that's perfectly fine. Just remember you will only have one image selected from all sets you've posted. You don't need to do mixed sets between different games, just post one for Skyrim, one for Fallout, etc as you already do now, but remember to link to them all as contributions...

Edit: The staff beat me to it!

Thanks for clarifying,.. I meant indeed uploading one set with images from different games , but all for the same theme obviously.
I'll leave it to the judges then to pick one (or not,..) , thanks for the response

Question: in the "Participants - Entries - Screenshots" rules it says: "Screenshots must be uploaded to the public image share, and linked in the comment section of this news post.", does that mean that after uploading the shots i have to make a comment in this post with the link?. I mean, it seems pretty straight foward, but I don't understand why, especially after filling out the event entry from the 3rd step in the "How to enter" section.

Thanks for your question. I updated that part.

No, you do not have to link them in the comments, filling out the entry form is fine. Though you are also welcome to share your shots in the comment section.

Yes, if they fit the theme you can do that. Just note that the jury will probably pick a newer shot that has been created specifically for this event over an older one if they are of comparable quality.

I have a question. The participant entries section says, screenshots must not depict content that would not be permissible to be hosted on Nexus Mods. Does that mean, if an armor mod seen on the picture isn't hosted on Nexus then it's immediately excluded, or only if that mod was made without permission from the original creators? I'm asking because one of the screenshots I'd like to enter has an armor that was later deleted from the uploader's patreon site, because the publisher sent them a cease and desist order to which they complied. Many high quality armors are also only hosted on foreign sites, so it'd be important to clarify to what extent this rule goes. Edited by Fyrcynn
