SSE 30FPS on 1070 8gb; post Shadowplay install

Hey guys,

I recently built a new PC with an 8gb 1070 card and the first thing I did was mod the hell out of Skyrim SE.

Best decision ever. I would get a solid 59 fps with occasional 10fps drops.

Unfortunately, after trying to record some of this good Nordic goodness (with NVIDIA Shadowplay), my whole game has dropped to a solid 19-30 FPS.

I tried making the changes as outlined in this guide but to no avail.

The mods are all the same as were previously installed (Photorealistic Tamriel, Northern Grass, AmidianBorn textures, Noble Skyrim, HD Caves, Majestic Mountains, etc).

One weird thing I do notice is that when I press the End key to open the Photorealistic Tamriel Mod menu, the menu comes up in extremely small scale. Even the "Activate Windows" watermark is super small instead of at its usual size. Is this because of the installation of shadowplay?

How can I resolve this? I just want to go back to sneaking around Skyrim without a care in the world.
