NIF Help: Custom face mesh roadblock.

I've been working on a custom companion, and I've finally decided to rig their face mesh. Unfortunately, I've run into a bad snag. I've gone through and given them rigged facebones NIFs for their face and eyes, but viewing them in the Creation Kit shows them pushed down from the head and disconnected from eachother. Viewing them in-game, they turn into a mess of wildly stretched vertices and missing faces. The bone weights seem to check out, and I've checked over the transforms on the mesh and bones, so I'm at a loss for what's going on.

 

I do need to mention that I don't have a TRI file for this mesh, as I have zero Blender experience and all the modelling skill of a microwaved turnip. I don't fully understand the significance of TRI files, and looking at super mutant face files has only confused me even more. Is that what's got me stuck?
