The save game files on your local drive reside under "C:\Users\<YourUserName>\Documents\My Games\FalloutNV". If Vortex is not finding them there, but you can see them with "Windows Explorer"/"File Explorer", then Vortex is not pointing to the correct location.

If you have enabled "Steam Cloud" to automatically sync your files, then you also have the save game files backed up to Steam's Cloud Servers even if they have been deleted from the local disk. You can restore them to your local drive manually from the "Steam Library | Steam Cloud" button, but it might take a bit to download the files. If you are running the Steam Client in "online mode", then they are automatically available, but Vortex (again) probably isn't looking for them there. If you are in "offline mode", then they aren't.

I don't use Vortex myself, so this is better asked in their support forum. But from "this wiki article" you want to setup each profile with either "each has it's own settings" or "each has it's own save files", or both options.

There is also a thread titled "How do Profiles work? - Vortex" which may be helpful to you.

Finally there are some related tutorials under the 'Mod Managers' section of the wiki "FNV General Mod Use Advice" article.

Vortex makes use of the registry entries from when the game is installed. If it is not finding those entries, it gets lost. That is an indication that something (either the game or Vortex) is not installed correctly.

ok, ill head over to their wiki and if needed then to their support. thanks for helping y'all

Althought, vortex isnt the problem. vortex DOES show the files only when i launch the game thru vortex the saves dont show up. they only do in vortex' save editor and the game launched solely by steam
