SkyUI "An exception occurred in the script" help?

So I've looked around the forums and I've seen many old ones concerning this, but I didn't think anyone would respond since it was so old, so I decided to make a new one. This is also my first time posting so idk how tags work.

My Skyrim was f***ing up horribly every time I tried to play it, so I decided to just write the mods I knew I wanted out of all of them and uninstall my Skyrim completely, then reinstall a completely new one, with no mods and no f*#@ery in the folders. The first mod I went to download was SkyUI. At first it said that I need an API key, so I looked it up, and people said to reinstall a different NNM, which worked so that way it allowed the mod to be downloaded.

SkyUI downloaded fine, but it won't activate. I looked up the error, "An exception occurred in the script".

- The first answer I found was to go into the NMM settings at the top of the NMM window, and activate all three of the tabs. The only problem was that there was that the main of the three tabs that I needed activated ("Add shell extensions for supported file types"), I couldn't find, and the other two were in the settings tab, "OS Settings" instead of general. I activated all two of the tabs. Below it, there was a mini tab that said "Add Shell Extensions." The tabs I could activate were 7zip, zip, etc. I activated all of those to see if it was just divided up into new sections with the new update. That didn't work, it still had the same error.

- The second and last answer I found was to go into properties, go the the security tab, and find yourself, then edit it so NMM has full permission checked off in the tabs. That didn't work.

I looked online to see if there was anything about missing one of the three Associates checks, but it just circled back to the same forums and answers I found concerning the, "An exception occurred in the script."

So I'm stuck, and I can't download half of the mods I want to download because they require SkyUI. Help?

The pictures below are of my settings and the load that pops up whenever I download it.

So I have the same prob as you

I've downloaded the latest version of NMM 0.70.5 and in that version I had the same problem as you are

So rn ama downloaded an older version of NMM 0.65.2 and it's looks like the problem is fixed there. The box "Add shell extensions for supported file types" is present there. I did not download skyui yet to check if it's completely working, but ama just letting u know so u know
