Gap between boots and legs

Footwear may be designed to match perfectly with a specific body / pants armor piece but when mixed with others may show a gap and / or cause clipping. Gaps tend to be seen when the footwear in question has both the foot and lower leg nodes assigned. While clipping tends to be seen when the footwear only has the foot node assigned.

The "easy solution" for this combination would be to remove the lower leg slot from the footwear.

The "harder solution" would be to add the necessary body bits to the footwear so that it extends to the full height of the lower leg node and thus meeting up with the rest of the body.

Both solutions could cause clipping in some scenarios.

If this turns out not to be the case, then I have no idea.

For the "easy route" see the section called "Setting the body slot in Skyrim"

http://wiki.tesnexus.com/index.php/Skyrim_bodyparts_number

Use the NifSkope instructions for checking that the body slot number is for the foot (i.e. 37). There should only be one body slot entry per mesh node (i.e. NiTriShape) on the NIF file itself.

Use the Creation Kit instructions for checking the Armor and Armor Addon forms. Make sure that the body slot number(s) used on the NIF file is on both records. Remove any extra.

As far as the "harder route" that is beyond me.

You'll have to figure out what ESP or ESM is associated with that piece of armor. And you'll need to locate the NIF file as well. Those things I cannot tell you.
