Adding a new alchemy recipe to the game?

How would one go about it? When I add a new ralchemy recipe in an xml the game doesn't recognise it. I can add it to my inventory via console but it will not show up in the alchemy tab, even though it has all the ingredients specified ( every other recipe works fine and is consumed automatically ). I'm thinking it may have something to do with localization_key entry? Has anyone done something similar?

There's the alchemy recipe item (piece of paper you can see in a shop/chest) and there's the associated recipe itself which you can see in your alchemy tab (which you get when you automatically read a recipe item you obtained).

 

My guess is you probably have a typo (upper/lower case mismatch) in the item name ("Recipe for XYZ") so it doesn't link to the recipe. See Craft Alchemical Bases v1.2 for an example.

thank you very much, I can't believe I've overlooked this mod after trying to find a template for 2 days.

 

edit : it was most likely an additional, unnecessary item tag, everything works fine now.
