[LE] Creation Kit started crashing as strart-up - WHY, CK, why?

Recommended Posts

As the title says - yesterday I was happily working on my mod, today I can't open CK.

I'm on Win10 64, I very recently started using MO2, and until now I had no problem running CK through it.

The only thing I couldn't get to work was scripting - CK wouldn't compile neither for love nor money, but it did recognize ready scripts I compiled with notepad++, so that didn't bother me all that much.

However, as of today, when I try to open it, CK starts loading, then after 20 to 60 seconds it disappears and MO2 unlocks.

Tes5edit, Loot, and pretty much any other programs I run through MO2 start without problem, it's just CK.

Annoyingly enough, when run outside MO2 CK starts just fine, but, obviously, it can't see any of the mods I have installed in MO2.

Is anyone else experiencing this? What could be the cause and is there a way to counter it?

I'd appreciate any help.

It will no doubt be a config issue with MO2 and demonstrates why running the CK via a mod manager is not really that sensible. It just adds another layer of software to debug; before debugging the crap the CK can throw at you, before debugging all your actual errors! I would use this as an opportunity to start using the CK manually and just put the actual esps/esms you need for you mod into the data directory. IBM.

As agerweb said, CK can not read virtualized file completely somehow. In my experience, although the esm / esp expanded by MO2 into the virtual Data folder was read, audio files such as wav / fuz were not recognized by CK. The script file may be the same as this. The most sure thing is to put all files in the real Data folder.

At least with Mod Organizer (old one), Creation Kit (32bit) can't recognize the wav file that contains in virtual folder, so that can't generate lip files. It may be quite limited, but this is a fact. I just provided information. There is nobody who wants to get dirty in the Data folder, and anyone knows that.
