Before I get started, I'd like to that say any advice for creation & optimization, or for direction on creating anything in this list myself, would be highly appreciated.

Intro

Currently I'm in the process of creating a new world, Japan, separate from Skyrim itself. However, I can only do so much with the resources available currently on nexus, in conjunction with the Skyhaven style assets already in the game. I've developed a good portion of the area already, but I'm hitting a wall of redundancy due to the lack variation.

A quick overview of the land itself

[Timeline] Taking place between 1500-1650, when Japan was engulfed in civil war and the Portuguese had just discovered the southern part of the land and had initiated trade, leading to the introduction of Nanban armor, rifles, and outside religion (I plan to link Skyrim religion here in place of Christianity).

[Geography] The land itself will be based on that of real Japan, including forests/bamboo forests, marshes/mangroves, mountains, plains, islands(Some possibly volcanic), and areas heavily influenced by other games such as "Ashina & Hirata" from the game "Sekiro, Shadows Die Twice" (Most realistic reference I have).

So, what I'm looking for, would be resources (some with variants) of:

-Castles

-Temples

-Arches & Covered Bridges

-Shrines, Statues (Based on Shintoism and Buddhism)

-Ships/Boats

-Trees and Foliage (Bamboo, Cherry blossoms (white, red, pink), Banzai trees, mangrove, mountain trees/outcropping branches)

-Currency of the era

-Literature

-Banners/Flags

-Ceremonial items

-Geisha & Kabuki theatre assets

-Mythological items, creatures, and lore (i.e. Japanese style dragons)

-Weapons/Siege (Too many to list, but scroll through here and take your pick - https://www.tofugu.com/japan/ancient-japanese-weapons/#tekkan-and-hachiwari-japans-not-so-famous-blades )

-Portuguese influence (Nanban armor, matchlock rifle)

-Armors (HQ) (Both the Shogun mod, and this are the best references I can find - https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/88378 )

-Clothes/Robes (Monk/priestess, tribal, peasant, noble, Geisha, Kabuki masks)

To wrap up

This isn't a call to arms, but any help with this would be highly appreciated. The more help I receive, the better product I'll be able to develop, and it won't take nearly as long. Luckily none of these are hard to find examples of. Below are my own references to find many good examples of these things I'm looking for:

-Games

"Sekiro, Shadows Die Twice"

"Total War: Shogun"

"Total War: Shogun 2"

"Tomb Raider (2013)"

"Onimusha"

"Nioh"

-Movies

"Hara-Kiri, Death of a Samurai"

"The last Samurai"

"47 Ronin"

-Stories

"The book of 5 Rings"

If there are any questions/concerns feel free to message me on here, or on steam under the name "Virtus"

Been trying to make a wuxia/ feudal japan feel in my skyrim. If anyones interested there is Cangloong City which is a world space, havent gotten it to work but i have the rar file if anyone would like to try or perhaps check out its assets, I also have world of rudra if anyones interested, both mods are incomplete worldspaces.

Im not a modder but if anyone is and would like the mods and see what they can do i can send the rar

So far I have done springtime skyrim with cherry blossoms, Samurai armor, kimonos and hakamas, katana animations along with the mofu kenjutsu and obviously the set up for sekiro combat. Found these mods helped create ancient asian feel along. You could use tropical skyrim cause it adds bamboo trees but i didnt like the palm trees in certain areas or an alternative you could use bent pine II. Im using Farm house LEVEL 4 textures, the roofs and wood textures are bright and look like japanese buildings inside and out. Another good mod for the blades armor would be the blades rexture which changes it from silver, blue and gold to just black with gold accents, looks very ornate.

I was hoping of using the armor mods and creating a level list for all the npcs, perhaps turn the imperials into the Japanese, stormcloaks into the chinese, the Forsworn into Mongolians and i feel the normal quests for each factions can stay the same. Use the animal assets from tropical skyrim for pandas and tigers. Grey beards as monks, thieves guild could be dressed as normal farmers, darkbrotherhood could be ninjas, companions could be ronins and the college of winterhold could be a wudan school. The dragons could be converted into the chinese dragons mod, and perhaps you can use the hot springs, remove the steam, and cover its ground textures with grass to make Rice paddies and have them located along mountainsides and farms and place bamboo trees around. The roads could be converted into dirt roads and building stone textures they can be replaced with solid cement textures from Cangloong city or World of rudra.

I know thats asking for a lot, Im not modder so i have no idea, but just some ideas if anyone would like to make it happen.

Side note, sorry for rant, the curse of the Immortals by PHOE created an akavir land mod with the tsecci (idk how to spell), it has feudal japan buildings and even chinese dragons. however the mod is in russian, waiting on an english translation, maybe someone could VaSynth to write lines and quests for them, they are always looking for help.

Same author also released Curse of the Akavir, fun mod, not dlc size but a good mod with the tang mo from akavir.

Sorry if this is a lot to take in, im just DESPERATE for an ASIAN overhaul for Skyrim. hOpE this helped anyone.
