Mod Request - Large Base Room

Below Zero just released their new content update and rooms like the large base room, the command room or the glass dome ceilings are just awesome.
How hard or easy would it be to implement those rooms in the original game? Or are the games very dissimilar in coding? What can be ported from Below Zero to Subnautica?

well to be honest, modders for subnautica have figured out how to make drills, a freaking ship, nermous base parts, new modules for vehicles, new resources, new items and so on so forth

if a skilled enough modder(not me) put their mind to it they could create a new base part that's as large if not larger than the below zero huge room, not to mention they could add other rooms with other purposes but that's besides the point

if someone who was skilled got their mind around to it(and had below zero to strip the assets for the room from) they could probably do it semi easily, thats for the base room but for the stuff like corridors connecting to it properly, potential vertical stacking, materials costs, hull integrity costs, that would all be harder to figure out

Depends on how much that is automatically part of the module/system; if the "connect here" is just inherently part of the module, you don't need to port that over at all; it'll just work.

I'm rather disappointed that the developers haven't patched at least the command room into the original game yes; one of the most requested additions for the first game was a better/easier way to check the bases hull-integrity, building one, quickly reading the temporary text in the upper left corner, deconstructing what you built, is way to cumbersome.

They clearly noticed, which is why they put the command module into the sequel, but they haven't done anything to fix the issue in the original.

IMHO it would be a smart move for the devs to release a free DLC which adds the new building modules (as well as some items like the recyclotron) to the base game for everyone who owns Below Zero. Shouldn't be a lot of work for them and would likely be an incentive for quite a few people who just own the base game to buy the new one as well.

Also, we all know that modders will likely find a way to do it themselves sooner or later (by making a script that extracts and moves the relevant data from BZ to the base game as releasing the files directly would be illegal)
