Weird symbol on display!

I was happily building at Sanctuary and I was switching between workshop and normal modes frequently. I accidentally hit a few keys simultaneously (open workshop key and TAB for inventory - and maybe some others!), and this weird symbol appeared on the screen -

.....and it won't go away!

 

I couldn't move, but everything was moving normally in the background (ie game hadn't crashed). When I pressed ESC the save option was unavailable. I tried using player.moveto player, and coc redrocketext, but still was stuck with a blurry screen and unable to move or save.

 

 

It appears all throughout the game, in game or in the main menu as you see above.

 

I disabled ALL mods and ran it without the F4SE starter and still no change.

 

Anyone seen this before and/or know how to get rid of it?

**SOLVED**

 

It was the "Nahimic Sound Tracker" feature on my Laptop - nothing to do with Fallout 4 - DOH!!

 

Apparently it's an extra for the HUD in games that shows the direction that a sound (creature/monster etc') is coming from. It's enabled/disabled by pressing LCTRL LSHIFT S at the same time - which I obviously did.

 

I'll leave this here just in case anybody else gets freaked out by it.
