Having trouble with CBBE Body Physics.

Recommended Posts

I'm new to modding and I've been trying to get this to work for a few days and still no luck. I'm using Vortex and SKSE64 Loader.

My mods are the following:
CBBE

BodySlider

FNIS SE

SkyUI

RaceMenuSE

CBPC

SINful CBP
Realistic Ragdolls and Force

XP32 Maximum Skeleton Special Extended

So I understand that to get the physics on my character model I have to use the "CBBE Body Physics" body with the same preset that I used when installing (CBBE Slim) in the BodySlide options. Well every time I do so and load up the game I'm getting some physics glitching where the chest is hideously abnormally large. When I set the BodySlider body to regular "CBBE Body" this problem gets fixed with the chest and body being the correct size yet there are no bouncing physics. The only thing I think of that's causing this is either a problem with my load order or not having the correct mods or mods that seem to be clashing with each other. I've been reading around on the internet to see if I could fix it myself but I've tried everything and I'm completely stumped at this point.

Before anyone suggests, I have been running FNIS Generator each time I make changes and haven't forgot to tick the "Build Morphs" box in BodySlider and Ctrl+Click the Build button each time I use Bodyslider.

I would attach and picture of the glitch I'm getting but it's NSFW and i'm not sure what the rules are on posting those types of images.

Using CTRL+Build button is going to generate meshes into your bodyslide folder. You don't need to hold CTRL.

You can also use any preset you'd like. Select "CBBE Body Physics" in Outfit/Body, and select a Preset. You can customize any of the presets to your liking - open the Preview window and start adjusting sliders. Just make sure to Save the preset to build armor later. Tick the Build Morphs box then use the Batch Build button instead of the regular build button. This will present you with a list of everything to install. Go through the list and make sure only the physics options are ticked.

Btw, you no longer need realistic ragdolls with XPMSE.

Thanks for the reply!

I used Batch Build the way you said and went ahead and uninstalled the Ragdolls mod. I'm still having the same issue. Every time I load my game with CBBE Physics Body my character model is getting comically abnormally large breasts. As soon as I load up a regular CBBE body the size goes back to normal but loses it's physics property. It has to be something wrong with the mods I'm using or perhaps a mod I'm needing that I don't have installed.

I've looked at the MCM info on XPMSE and it's all saying "You barely made it." which lets me know that it's working correctly. I'm just completely stumped as to what I need to do as I've tried every imaginable setting and combination of mods that I could possibly try. I even sorted my loader order with LOOT and matched it accordingly with Vortex.

Here's what it's looking like: (NSFW) https://imgur.com/a/D1PBXhN

Loaded the same exact save file with the regular CBBE body: (NSFW) https://imgur.com/a/FYPEnKd

Ok, so after re-installing XPMSE and re-running FNIS I'm still getting the same problem. Speaking of HDT, are there any HDT specific mods that I need to be running? If so, which ones? And of the mods that I mentioned in my previous post, will I need to disable any of them?

Also, I was wondering if this had anything to do with the NIF or HKX files within the meshes folder and possibly having to do something with them manually?

Edit: I thought it would be worth noting that I managed to get correct bodies and physics on female NPCs but I'm still getting the same size glitch on my playable character. So the mods are working correctly there just seems to be something wrong with my character. Not sure how to fix.

Considering that things work right when you choose another bodyslide model, it looks like the "slim" bodyslide model you've chosen is seriously glitched for whatever reason. I'd recommend uninstalling and then reinstalling the model. I've never seen anything like that and have used the "slim" CBBE model before.

Regarding HDT, the new "standard" (as of 1.5.80/2.0.16) is HDT-SMP. There are three components required, all of which can be downloaded from their chinese authors' host website.

You can find links to those framework elements at

  • 6 months later...

Sorry I'm late to the party, but I wanted to post here in case anyone else stumbled upon this like I did.

I want to mention up front that I'm new to modding Skyrim (as well as posting here), but I ran into what I would consider the exact same problem and I wanted to share my experience. If I used Bodyslide to build out a preset on a non-physics body/outfit it would be shaped perfectly, but no physics. When I would build out my preset in Bodyslide on top of a physics-enabled body/outfit, I'd get giant breasts with proper physics. This drove me nuts because I could reinstall CBBE SMP and the nude body would work perfect with all physics and properly sized breasts until I applied a new preset.

I knew this wasn't a problem with CBBE SMP or HDT SMP because the physics would work perfectly for the butt and thighs, and armor would mesh appropriately. Technically the physics work for the breasts as well, they're just ridiculous. I could apply a preset to the NON-physics chest armor from a set and then apply the exact same preset to the rest of my physics-enabled armor (gauntlets, thighs, underwear, etc.) from the same set and I would get properly sized breasts with no physics, but perfectly meshed thigh and underwear that moved correctly with physics.

Long story short I finally generated the body with morphs in Bodyslide and started poking around in-game in RaceMenu. Adjusting the body sliders in the CBBE Morphs tab just made things worse, but all the way over in the Body Scale tab I discovered the breast scale was set to 5 instead of 1. I turned it down and, lo and behold, perfect physics-enabled breasts.

I still have no idea what was forcing the breasts slider inside the Body Scale tab to jump that high only when using physics enabled outfits, I haven't been able to narrow it down to any mods, but I hope this helps someone else who is also struggling.

As an additional note, if you're also using CBBE SMP, be sure you're applying your bodyslide preset to the CBBE SMP body, not the CBBE Physics body. That's where I had my best results, at least.
