Just want to replace the partner dog with a Pokemon

I'm completely new to modding but I would like to try modding this game by replacing the dog with a Pokemon model I found here https://www.models-resource.com/3ds/pokemonxy/model/9318/

 

I'm currently downloading the bethesda launcher to use the G.E.C.K but I didn't find any online guide to walk step by step to follow.

Any help on how to replace models or leading me to a guide for that is very appreciated

there was a mod that replaced aka re-textured him with the look of houndoom along with shiny skin colors but the stupid bs mod author deleted it

Eck, thats a mighty task.

Re texture is a lot easier then taking a 3d model, creating animation, and replacing it.

You're going to need 3DS max 2012?-2015 with havok content tools, and a good base in animation, plus some other tools.

I'd try texturing Dogmeat into a dog Pokemon first, just need to edit some texture files with photoshop or gimp and gtg.

heyas Lilkandeekid! Do you know if the game still has that problem where any changes that are made to the dogmeat model, transfer over to other dogs in the game? Is the workaround for that still required? If it is, I don't know what that workaround was....
