Infinite Loading BUG Extreme and Returning

StrikeTrooper

HI,

beeing a passive member for years i'm now out of ideas and could need some suggestions. I'm playing fallout 4 on a asus-laptop an it's been working litarally for years on high details.

I'm playing a "heavily" modded game, but no mayor mods. mostly companions, bugfixes, perks, monster, quests, weapons and armor.

Now to my Problems:

1. Savegames keep getting stuck in the loadingscreen with the hint-texts. ALt-F4 closes the game, the taskmanager kills the process, but the savegame is only loadable without any mods. It was running perfectly fine for months with the mods.

2. Sometimes the savegame is loadable, by loading first an older or unmodded savegame, but after saving again the new savegame produces also the infinite loadinscreen. By now i went a few times back to older savegames, that still worked and let me even save and load again, but ... the BUG keeps appearing again after some time sometimes already one savegame later somtimes it takes weeks.

I identified a few mods that keept the savegame from laoding, by enabling/disabling them one after the other, tried a new save, loading failed again. AND the mods i've got to disable for loading are different for every savegame...

3. On the hight of the problem, "New Game" also resulted in an infintie loadingscreen.

4. Contraption DLC, when i reinstalled the dlc all the already build content in my savegame just diasppeared. The conveyorsbelt with storage, Mannequins, Weaponracks are visible on the Screenshots for the Savegames, ingame they are all gone, all container disappeared without a trace an with all items inside. The disappearance of the weaponracks left the weapons hanging in midair. The DLC-content is still buildable, so i don't think it's a workshop related problem. the content keeps beeing lost, even when i'm loading very old savegames. I've already tried ti change the loadinglist.

tried already:

turning down graphics

cleaning savegames (produces crashing savegames)

diasabling all bigger mods

disabling FO4SE

disabling all mods

converting all possible esp into esl

loot

started fallout as admin

windowed mode

etc.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance'nd sorry for my english, i'm not a native englishspeaker.

I had a problem similar to this.

Gimme your system specs if you can, I want to know if maybe your GPU is being weird. If you have lots of textures trying to load and your card s struggling it gets stuck on loading. I had that issue before.

Are you using load accelerator at all? I had good results with it for a while, but then over a save where my character was level 100+ it routinely gave me problems where I would attempt to load or transition or autosave and the game would simply freeze and I had to kill it via Task Manager.

What you might need to do is completely uninstall Fallout and reinstall to get a fresh start, your old saves you may need to let go, and then see what happens on a vanilla game fresh start.

Hi, thanks for your response.

Never used load accelerator before, it seems to speed things up, but unloadable saves stay unloadable. New game works just fine (Vanilla and modded). No Problems so far. But i'd like to finish my old game... First time the problem occured i'd to go back around 100 level...

I'm only using a few weapon textures etc, not even the hd-pack, nothing really big. Btw. if that were the problem, every savegame should be unloadable. autosaves etc. work just fine, but once the first unloadable is created every savegame made after that point will be the same (game stays playable in the meantime, as long as i dont try to load).

Strange: unladable savegame gets loadable when all mods are dectivated, but every savegame after that point (without mods) will still lead to infinite loading screens.

Transitionfreezes happen from time to time, but its rare.

Specs:

Operating System: Windows 10 Home 64-bit (10.0, Build 18362) (18362.19h1_release.190318-1202)

System Manufacturer: ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC.
System Model: N551VW
Processor: Intel® Core i7-6700HQ CPU @ 2.60GHz (8 CPUs), ~2.6GHz

Memory: 16384MB RAM
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M
Chip type: GeForce GTX 960M

The strange thing is that the game keeps running fine as long as i find a loadable savegame. Deactivating just single mods show no success, deactivating all works.

Thanks again.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M.

This is a laptop gpu correct? Onboard graphics?

If so I believe its what, 4Gb at most? Again, what could be the culprit is too high demand for the cards available memory, depending on a weapon packs texture size. I don't even use his res weapon texture packs and my Vega 64 sits around 6 Gb usage just from the world space, and weapons, and actors.

Did you deactivate, or remove any mods in your unloadable games? If so, the reason they freeze or crash is because of missing masters or empty calls, meaning the game is attempting to call the items in your saved game file, but they either lead nowhere, or are corrupted (meaning the file is overwritten by several mods and its conflicting.)

Something you can try is this, https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/22633 <---Fallrim Resaver. Download, and run the program, and very important so don't do anything else with it. Load your save that is being wierd, CLICK CLEAN up at the top, Select SHOW UNATTACHED INSTANCES, then select CLEAN again, and now select REMOVE UNATTACHED INSTANCES, and hit OK. Don't do anything else with the other options because you can drastically jack up your save file.

Then select FILE, and you can choose between SAVE or SAVE AS. SAVE overwrites the file, SAVE AS creates a new one and leaves the old as a backup.

Hi, if like me, you've been playing for a few years, your problem is probably caused by too much stuff...

Meaning, your Workshops are overloaded with resources, you have thousands of weapons, gear, power armor pieces stashed in boxes, & your trying to carry half a city's worth of crap in your inventory.

Solution: Get rid of it, ALL of it, just keep any rare stuff or the gear you can't live without...

First you WILL need a save you can load from. After loading run around your settlements, don't fast travel & don't save, NOT until you've cleaned house. Make sure you use a NEW save, don't overwrite any saves, & do not use Auto or Exit save. If you end up in a load, before you finish, you'll bug out & have to start ALL over again...

If you do this correctly, it should allow your NEW saves to load...TF

Just remember to keep ALL your stuff to a minimum there after.

Good luck, & hope this helps, also remember your Save file is NOT corrupted, it's bullshit...

This may help.

Infinite load screen could indicate a corrupted file.

If you are having issues with corrupted saves and/or CTD because corrupted saves.

You can check for a corrupted file and possibly fixing it by use ReSave. ReSave is on the Nexus, a must have app.

Another indication if the file size if it is smaller than your other hard saves. Not auto saves or quick saves they are always bigger than hard saves

Check the flies with ReSave and delete all corrupted files. Note: make sure you close and open ReSave before each file checked. It appears that if a file is loaded everything else it checks says they are corrupted even when not.

Delete or move to another folder all saves except the last few uncorrupted saves.

(If needed) Clean save with ReSave, Save as; Cleaned### (### is the save number)

1. Open the last good save or the one just cleaned.

2. Once in Game load the same save again.

3. Once again back in game, Save.

4. Go to 3rd Person.

5. Open Console; Select your character and type kill.

6. Once back in game save and continue playing.

Why this works I have no idea. I found all of this online and I combined several of them into this little procedure. I have been using this procedure for several weeks and it has been working great for me. I have been testing mods a lot the last several months and have corrupted the game saves at times, to a point, that I would have to start a new game every two or three weeks. On top of testing mods to see if I liked them or not I wanted to see how many I could install before the game hard crashed. Right now I’m hovering around 600, and my save just short of 60mb and at level 22. The procedures described above have kept me from having to start the game over; so far, it’s been about five weeks, so far.

Other Discoveries/Tips:

When leaving the new Virtual Workshop my camera view got stuck above my char, couldn’t move. To fix I found by typing tfc in console, which I could still use, then aim my weapon, I would be back to normal. I could not duplicate the bug at all after that time. It seamed that leaving the pod put me in some kind of Partial Free Cam and when I typed in tfc it place my view looking up from the floor at my character and I could still move the character but once I aimed my gun I went back to normal first person. Just weird or Bethesda being Bethesda.

Low fps, first try restarting or shutdown the computer and then restart the game. If you are using F4SE start steam first (if you are using it) before you start the game.
