Dreaming when asleep - the abandoned "Dreamboy Revenge" mod.

I was looking for a mod that causes the player to dream. It's boring watching that counter click down on a black screen.

I sat SO many times watching the hours click over that I thought - would it not be a fantastic idea to be able to.....

dream instead?

And I discovered this: https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/71278?tab=posts

Trainwiz's "Dreamboy Revenge", an unfinished 'Oldrim' mod.

Trainwiz says Now when you sleep, you have a chance to receive a random, fully interactive dream scene!

Or you would have, but I've lost any real motivation to work on this mod, and thus releasing all of it as a resource for anyone interested in picking it up.

Now, I can't mod to save my life. But would someone be interested in picking this up for SSE?

Trainwiz provides details and a lot of work has been done:

Trainwiz says:

To those who are aware, a while back I started a mod called Dreamboy's Revenge. The design was simple. Whenever the player went to sleep, they had a chance of having a fully interactive dream. Nightmares, prophetic visions, and race specific stuff were all planned.
So... what happened?
Well, for quite a while now I've been going to into actual game design, making my own games under my own company, as well as doing work and research for virtual reality. Not only has that consumed most of my time, but pretty much all of my interest. I like doing my own stuff more.

Luckily, I hadn't any real projects going at this point, except of course, for Dreamboy's Revenge.
Now I can't have all the fun, so at this point, I've decided that I'd like to give it to you as a free resource, for any and all to finish if they want.

OVERVIEW
This mod contains all the work I've done, which includes the basic scripts and cells for the dreaming system and the individual dreams. Source files for the scripts are included, as well as a detailed document outlining how it works, and what the eventual plans were. People who need a more detailed explanation on how stuff works or what dreams specifically were planned can PM me. However, be aware that you'll need a decent knowledge of scripting if you want to finish this in the first place, and I'm not going to teach you that.

Otherwise, you're free to gut this mod and use it as you wish.

Since Trainwiz's proposed dreams have not been created, I wondered if his list of dreams might be better replaced with short videos / animations from open resources, or offered by authors of videos of mods / mod problems/ whatever.

Clipping in pre-existing short video / animated content would be a lot easier than creating fresh stuff. And it could showcase some Screen Archer / Video creators works, too.

Might it be possible to clip in Violenz kill move clips too?

My final ideas are this: the mod would need an MCM so that you can set the chance of dreaming (like some nights are dream-free). You can alter the percentage of good/bad dreams, etc. Do you wake up screaming? That would be fun!

Anyhow, there we go. It might also be fun to link it with "Dark Corners of the Nirn" mod.

Thanks!

I really also want to help get this created!

If you have any skills in CK, there's a guy working on a mod like that. It adds dream and nightmare mechanics, but he needs help creating cells. https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/42171

Hey, I know this has been sat here for a while but I just found it today - after having a similar idea myself this morning. Have a look at my post on the SSE mod page - lots of ideas!
