Strange land shadows or black ground textures

So I ran into a strange bug that looks like strange land shadows or black ground textures. As I walked towards the black it disappears. Thoughts anyone?

TBH, I'm not exactly sure what's going on here. IMHO it's a texture issue. Either a texture with messed up mipmaps or some LOD issue - although these spots seam to be to near for real LOD textures.

 

Unfortunately, the only user side "fix" I can think of is installing a different texture replacer for landscapes/roads. If you're using Vortex or MO, you can specify which texture files should overwrite others. So maybe you can change only the problematic texture while keeping the overall look intact. I don't know the exact name of this texture, but it should be something beginning with "reach...".

1. I thought it was a corrupted ini. setting. However reverting to default or using the recommended BethINI settings had no effect

2. SSELODGen the next culprit however doing a "purge mods" Vortex to clean out any generated files did not change the issue.

3. brand-new save no change

 

Suspected landscape mods

- BlendedRoads: however this should not impact the entire ground texture.

- Verdant/Landscape Fixes For Grass mods: only affects the grass

- Cathedral Landscapes

- Myrkvior - The Flora Of Skyrim

This would help us narrow down the Mod ( if it's a mod. )

 

Plus the mods you listed - Did you read carefully their pages to see what would / would not work with these mods??

Standard Blended Roads is included by default. To use Really Blended Roads, select the option during install.

Not compatible with other landscape or terrain LOD mods for aesthetic purposes. 3D Landscapes seems compatible though.

Not compatible with Terrain LOD Redone : An equivalent is included.

Semi compatible with snow textures : Cathedral Snow will be overwritten.

Compatible with A Quality World Map : Load QWM after Cathedral Landscapes.

Compatible with Majestic Mountains : Load MM before Cathedral Landscapes.

Compatible with trees mods and with DynDOLOD.

So I would double check - as you likely might have some M.I.A. mods and/or Mods in Conflict.

For Landscapes - Cathedral Concept it also says earlier "...so that you can use it as a foundation without having to worry extensively about compatibility" Therefore I breezed by treating it like any other textures re-placer. Usually required files are normally stated during the download process as well. This is most likely the source of these issues thank you for pointing it out. My time is limited for testing so I have to do it piecemeal. So unsurprisingly this issue does not appear with vanilla.

The issue is resolved. For Landscapes - Cathedral Concept `LODGEN Textures for v3` needs to be removed after running LODGEN.
