Skyrim meshes/textures problem with Vortex

I run Skyrim Legendary Edition with all DLC, and am having an issue with Vortex not deploying certain mods correctly. My staging folder is c:\games\vortex\skyrim, and most of the mods seem to work as long as armor and hair are not involved. I recently installed KS-Hairdos (and associated files) through Vortex. Although Vortex reportedly completed the install and activation, when I play the game all the hair textures are either white, black [with purple tinge], blue, or purple. So, this obviously means the meshes/textures were not deployed correctly even though Vortex says they are installed and activated.

I also use SKSE (32), and FNIS 7_5. I have HDT Physics 4.0, XPME32 Skeleton, and all files sorted by LOOT in Vortex.

So, any clues as to why I am having this problem (other than that I might be just stupid)?

Thanks in advance for any help. :confused:

Is this in your Skyrim.ini?

bInvalidateOlderFiles=1
bUseArchives=1

No, but there is a line under archive that reads 'sResourceDataDirsFinal=' [there is no number] Should I insert something after the = sign? I added the two lines you mentioned and rebooted. No difference.

BTW, I checked the Vortex folder to see if all the files were there, and they appear to be. Kinda weird, I think.

Don't check your Vortex folder - check your game Data / Textures and Meshes. If your files are there - Vortex deployed them correctly.

Follow HtR's suggestions.

They were not there. I had to manually install them in the Data folder. This tells me Vortex is not working correctly. This only happens with hair and armor mods. I checked the Vortex settings and all the directories are correct, yet the problem persists. I am wondering if the problem is in an .ini file. I'll be checking them next.

Another possibility. If you had them manually installed at some point, Vortex may have merged changes out of existence.

For one of the texture mods, in Vortex use the option "Open in file manager".

Are the texture files there? If not, use the Mod Dropdown "Reinstall".

This may already be what you did when you say you checked the Vortex folders.

Did you Deploy? If you Deploy again, do you get any conflict notices?
