post your mod list.

NMM - Click on Plugins Tab - Click on the second button from the bottom (Export the current load order) - locate the text document, and copy and paste its contents into a reply to this topic

Note: use spoiler tags if you have an excessive amount of mods

How to create Spoilers:

[*spoiler]Load order goes here[*/spoiler]

Note: remove the asteriks * in the spoiler tags to create them.

i have absolutely no experience with Vortex or mod organizer so i would not know how to export your load order in these programs

random crashes are hard to problem solve, because they are just that. random

however for the most part, your load order would be a much more likely reason for random ctds, which would usually be because of mod conflicts.

once you share your mod list with us, we will continue from there.

==========================

Typical causes for specific CTDS

==========================

1. Instant CTD upon game load = Missing mod Requirement - a mod requires another mod that is not present or disabled - this results in an immediate CTD upon launching the game

2. CTD before main menu options pop up - Missing or Disabled Master files (Fallout 4's Master Files)

3. Random CTDs - Can be caused by a multitude of different reasons - such as - Insufficient Hardware Resources, Mod Conflicts (Load order), and hardware itself having issues, <-- being the 3 most likely causes, however random ctds are not limited to these 3 reasons mentioned.

4. Insufficient hardware - the hardware may not be powerful enough to run the game - this will no doubt end in issues, such as CTD, Freezing and Crashing.

Hardware Issues as in - Overheating, Throttling, Insufficient Resources (Usually Memory) - Unstable Hardware (Unstable Overclock - Too much Voltage) etc etc <-- however this would result in BSODs, and System issues such as freezing and crashing.

Note: looks like you have a laptop, so that then means the potentional issues are as follows (Mod conflicts, always a potentional regardless of computer), Hardware overheating, throttling, or not powerful enough to run the game (much more likely to be the case on a laptop, since it has inferior cooling, and inferior hardware compared to its desktop counterpart).

their is a very good possibility your ctd issue is because of missing master files.

however as said above, i have never used vortex or ever intend on using it, so i cant really help with it. (in NMM it is very quick and easy to see what mods require others, as mods that have missing requirements are marked in red, it also tells you which mod(s) you are missing, so you can quickly download the required mods) <-- not sure if Vortex can also do this

if it cant, then i would suggest loading all of your mods in F04Edit, this will let you know which mod requirement(s) are missing (it will stop loading mods, when a mod requirement is missing, looking at the right pane window will indicate what mod(s) is missing (however do note, that it will also do this, if a required mod is below the mod that requires it, in the load order, since for ovbious reasons a required mod must always be above the mod that it requires in the load order)

or you will have to manually go to every single mod page for all of your mods and check the mod requirements, then proceed to download the required mods.

F04Edit is much quicker for this specific task, (of checking what mods are missing)

however if you have very few mods, then the manual route would be sufficient.

Note: Always check the requirements section on each mod page, its on the main description page, and also most mod authors will add the mod requirements page, when you proceed to download the mod, the download window will tell you what mods are required for the particular mod you are downloading, both the requirements section and the download window include links to the required mod, that you can easily click on and be redirected straight to the download page of the required mod :wink:
