SkyUI is not working with SKSE & load order probs

Hello to all,

I got Skyrim Special Edition, version 1.5.80.0.8. Yesterday I installed a lot of mods. Since then my game is not running proberly:

In the beginning video sequence when you're driving in a cart to Helgen the screen is completely crazy - it turns around and moves whole time very fast. Because I have read that some of the mods can destroy this sequence, I deactivated the mods and startet a new game till the point when the dragon attacks Helgen and I had run behind Ralof in the tower. Then I saved the game, activated all mods and continued the game. The screen is continuely moving up and down like I would jump and I can't move - not even turning the head.

I think my load order is not correct. I tried to sort it proberly with the help of the load order tips from bethesda, but it seams to be still wrong. And I got the problem while sorting, that I can't get the game to load esp-files before loading esm-files. For example: I got the "Cutting Room Floor" (esp) and "Apachii Hairstyles" (esm). The hairstyles are always before CRF in the load order and the game won't let me change this.

And also I was not sure, if I had maybe installed mod(s) needing SKSE64 and/ or SkyUI. So, this morning I downloaded and installed them: first SKSE and then SkyUI. It helped nothing in running my game (still jumping screen and paralyzed avatar) but I got a strange effect now.

When starting the game with the skse64_loader.exe I can't activate SkyUI and I can't move it in the load order: When the main menu of the game is open and I go over "mods/ load order" I can click at SkyUI, it shows a check mark after, but when starting the game afterwards it's not running. Returning back to main menu, taking a look in the load order, it's unchecked.

When starting the game normally over the "play" button in the games libary of the steam client, I can move SkyUI to the top of the load order and it stays checked after activating it. But then it's complaining in the game, that the game was not started over SKSE and so SkyUI is not working proberly.

Another problem: Since I installed SKSE the game won't save chances in the load order. I can move esp's there (except SkyUI), but after returning to the game, they have the same order they had before I moved them. I also tried to edit the plugins.txt directly. It works when starting the game over steam. When starting the game over SKSE it flips back to the point before editing it.

Maybe, someone here has any idea what the prob is with SKSE and SkyUI in my game and/ or can help me to sort my load order correctly. Thank you.

PS: the attached file shows my load order, when starting the game over skse64_loader.exe (c:\users\dragon\app data\local\skyrimse\plugin.txt)

For the prisoner cart jumping around, there's a small mod that (in most cases) works:

https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/8004

You probably have much more serious problems though. Your post gives the impression that you aren't using a mod manager and/or LOOT.

You definitely need a mod manager and an option to automatically sort your plugins if you're building up a larger mod list.

I'd recommend using Vortex. LOOT is already built in, so you don't need anything else. If you want to use a different mod manager, definitely get LOOT and let it sort your plugins. After sorting, don't change your load order in game.

Thank you for the link to the "stop jumping, cart" mod. I will test it.

And yes, I also thought that it is maybe better to use a manager, so I installed NMM and LOOT this afternoon. Both found a lot of order problems, some missing patches and a few incompatibilities. Now, SkyUI und SKSE are working fine, but the f+++ cart is still jumping and turning.

Thanks for your reply!
