Skyrim Won't Start Up Through Mod Organizer 2

Recently I've run into a problem where whenever I try to load up the game from Mod Organizer 2, whether it be Skyrim or the SKSE launcher, the game will not run. However the Skyrim Launcher works fun, except for the problem that no dlc nor mods show up when I run the game from the launcher.

I went online to try and figure out the problem for myself, even tried a couple fixes, but I just cant seem to fix the problem. I don't know whether it is Mod Organizer itself that is causing the issue, possibly my computer (although it has run skyrim with mods in the past) or perhaps it is the mods that I have which is causing the issue. Any help would be appreciated

I think I've figured out the initial problem, one mod was not working correctly with the others and just wouldn't allow the game to start up at all, even though no such problems were stated by the mod author or other users. The reason why only the launcher would work was because all of the mods would get disabled when starting up the game through the launcher for some other unknown reason.

So far I've removed the mod, and am enabling each mod one by one to make sure that others don't repeat the problem.

I also recommend running MO as an administrator. Windows tries to prevent programs from modifying files saved to Program Files (x86). It might be preventing the mods from effecting the files. Alternatively, you could try to modify the folder that Skyrim is located in to allow for changes by your user account.

here is a suggestion. Reinstall Just steam to any other place other than Program Files and folders (x86) and reinstall the games.

Run the game first to establish it runs, then reinstall Mo 2 and reassert-it's influences and test the game first. Then install the mods OR Copy from the old mod folder directly to the new folder.

Advice: use portable, not global, you can better control all your data in one place.

Global uses the UAC authorizations "C:|users\*usersname*\apps\Local & roaming locations and can cause issues if the OS "operating system is too aggressive"

This will kill most problems related to mod managers and installs.

Gives you MORE freedom to choose.

Do someone get their hands on a fix for this issue?

I had the same problem with cracked game.

I solved it by going to Settings > Windows security > Virus threat and protection > Virus threat and protection settings. There i turned off Real-time protection and then went to Protection History. Once there i found the Threat blocked sign and when i opened it, it was one of the files from my Skyrim folder. I just restored it and it worked next time i ran MO2. Always check those options when running your PC anew, bcs, as i understand it, the Real-time protection is restored once you turn on your PC again.

Hopefully this will help

PS. I don't know if this works for legaly bought games tho...

I had to reinstall my game after it was crashing each time I wanted to save and halted any possible progress. I used Vortex and wanted to switch to MO2 and give it a try. Right now I am really regretting that decision.

It seems that I must have MO2 running and launch the game from inside it to have the mods load. When I launch from the SKSEshort even with MO2 running its an old dirty vanilla. I have no Anti-Virus running, I gave MO2 and the vertual nets admin. Skyrim is in a special game folder. MO2 is in its Default, neither are in programs.

After installing the new Unofficial patch, To get the old DLC patches disabled I had to do that manually by moving them out of the game folder.

I really don't want to have to open the MO2 each time i want to run the game. Further if i have to deal with the mods manually whats the purpose of having it?

Looking for a way around having to launch from inside MO2 and a good reason to keep using it.
