SUGGESTIONS: SSE / Blender Workflow 2019

Anyone have an updated and WORKING workflow for Blender and SSE nifs.

Tried versions 2.79 and 2.80 and neither imports Oldrim nor SSE nifs using two version of Niftools last releases.

I've search around a bit and keep find old info.

Can we start an updated resource?

From my experience, the easiest way is working on an "Oldrim" basis and converting/porting the finished mod to SE.

A great import/export tool are older versions of Nifskope (I'm using 1.1.3 - it's still available from github). It can export nifs as OBJ or DAE and it can import OBJ and 3DS. At least for static and weapons, exporting from Blender as 3DS and importing to Nifskope works perfectly. Don't know about armour/clothes though. I never did that.

At any rate, don't bother using the Blender nif plugin. That thing is a nightmare...

Yes, I have both versions installed. NoESIS for dae conversion, unless another format is better.. I am open to suggestions!

I see! I can't get any version to load old/new-Rim nifs at all.

Thanks Algabar

The format you use to import meshes in Blender depends on what you want:

If you want to edit a vanilla mesh, OBJ is probably the way to go. If you simply want to have a "blueprint" regarding size, positioning and orientation (I mainly did weapons...), I found DAE easier to handle.
